I’m sure many of you have heard of auras as they are something joked about a lot. When you think of something really hippie or metaphysical you probably think of auras. Do you actually know what they are though? They make more sense then you would think. People naturally give off certain vibes. Some people make you feel nervous, some give you joy, some make you mad. This all ties back to a person’s aura. So even if you don’t believe in them you are experiencing them on an emotional level.
Auras are an electromagnetic field that surrounds people, animals, and things. It may sound a bit crazy but even scientists recognize that everything gives off it’s own energy. This is the same. So, now that we know the basics lets get a little more in depth. So an aura has 7 layers. If you’ve read some of my older blog posts about chakras, or have seen this week’s monday video on my youtube channel, you’ll have some background knowledge. So the 7 layers are linked back to our 7 chakras. The first layer is the physical layer which ties back to the root chakra. This layer is connected to your physical health, pain, and pleasure. The next layer is the emotional layer which is connected to the sacral chakra. After that there is the mental layer which is connected to your solar plexus/navel chakra. Your fourth layer is called the astral layer. It is connected to your heart chakra and evidently about love. The astral layer is the layer in between the bottom three and the top three, so it is said to connect the two together. The next layer is called the spiritual layer. It is connected to your throat chakra. It relates back to your spiritual health and connects you to the universe. The sixth layer is called the celestial layer. It is connected to your third eye. It focuses on your intuition. The last layer is called “I Am” layer. It is connected to the crown chakra. This layer is about your potential connection with the divine.
Your aura is never just one colour at a time. It is a collective of colours that can express how one is feeling on all the different layers. The brightness of your aura can also be indicative of how you’re feeling. Something bright is more on the happy, joyful side. Where something dark or dull may have more negative attributes. Also, if you are in a rough time in your life and your aura is not looking the best you don’t have to worry about being stuck with that aura for the rest of your life. As you and the situations you are in change so does your aura. However if you feel like your aura could use a little TLC you can always cleanse it. You can cleanse your aura through meditation or smudging, just to name two methods.
Now, you’re probably wondering “can I look at my own aura?”. The answer to this is, with practice, yes. The easiest way to do this is to lay your hand against a white wall, paper, or any surface really. You want to look at your hand and let your eyes relax. If you’ve ever done a puzzle that has a 3D image you can see by relaxing your eyes, it is the same idea. Another way to think of it is to let your eyes zone out. Eventually you will begin to see a colour along the edges on your fingers. This is your aura. You can also practice by looking at pictures of people in front of a white background. Eventually, with practice, you will be able to see auras without the white backdrop.
So you know what auras are now, you know how to see your’s and other’s auras, but what do the different colours mean? I’ll leave some links for you to find lists of colours and their meanings.
