11 Signs you may be a Crystal Child

Today we are going to continue to talk about the different types of starseeds. Last week we talked about Indigo children and today we are going to talk about Crystal children. If you want to know more about starseeds in general click here. If you want to know about Indigo children click here.

What is a Crystal child? They are a group of people who started coming to this world around the 90’s. The Indigo children tore apart the institution and now the crystal children are help building back up. They show us that humanity is evolving. They are role models that are not ruled by their ego but rather by their higher self. I believe I may be a crystal so with each sign I give below I will leave an example of how I see it in myself.

#1 They are creative

This can be through art, writing, music, dance, etc. Personally I have been dancing since I could walk and singing for the same amount of time. As a child I was very gifted with the fiddle (although I’ve lost that talent as I stopped playing).

#2 They are natural healers

I have always had a knack for healing others emotions and have always been the one to help family when sick. I also am now trained in reiki healing as well.

#3 They are fascinated by crystals

I absolutely love them. Rose Quartz is my favourite and it what I am most connected to. I also have lots of black tourmaline, clear quartz, amethyst, and citrine. I hope to have a lot more someday.

#4 They love nature, animals, plants, trees, etc

My favourite place to be is in the forest. I love laying underneath a tree and just quietly observe everything around me. I love gardening. I even talk to my plants to help them grow. I am obsessed with animals and feel like I can never have enough animal companions in my home.

#5 They are empathetic

I personally believe I am an empath. I have always been very in tune to others emotions and find I take them on myself. Being in public can be very overwhelming due to feeling all these emotions.

#6 They have an intense stare and large penetrating eyes

My eyes are known to be piercing. They are a very unique icy blue that I’ve only seen a few people who are in my family also have. I always get comments about how piercing they are and as a kid I was often told they were “freaky” by the other kids.

#7 Uncomfortable in large crowds or loud places

Being in large crowds makes me very anxious. This is also due to being an empath. It is very overwhelming and so much to take in. It is often too much for me and results in me needing to spend a lot of time alone afterwards.

#8 They need very nurturing and loving environments to thrive.

My parents are divorced and growing up they had 2 very different styles of parenting. My mother was well intentioned but overly strict. She made it feel like I lived in a prison. My father on the other hand was a lot more on the nurturing side and more about gaining privileges rather than losing them. I thrived a lot more at my father’s and overall was a lot happier.

#9 Their parents are often Indigos

This one I am still trying to figure out if it is true or not. See my brother and I are full blood related and my sister is half blood related through our mom. I feel like all of us are starseeds. That would make my mom an indigo. I however am not sure if she is though. That is something I am still discovering. I can however see my dad being an Indigo. That wouldn’t explain my sister though. Unless instead of being born due to my mother being an indigo she was born into a family that just already had starseeds.

#10  Wise beyond their years

Growing up (especially in my pre-teens/early teens) adults always thought I was older than I really way. I was always told I seemed wiser and more mature than those my age. Maybe it had to do with being a crystal all along.

#11 Non-verbal

This is one that does not apply to me. That is normal since everyone is different, and not all symptoms or signs are the same for everyone when it comes to anything in life. However it is common that crystal children don’t start speaking until their toddler years. Sometimes they are even diagnosed with ASD (autism spectrum disorder). The reason for their lack of speech is because they can communicate telepathically and therefore don’t feel the need to speak to get their points across.

Thanks for reading! Are you a crystal? Let me know in the comments along with any other thoughts or questions you may have. Also, make sure you check out my post about empaths to enter the giveaway. I am making an adjustment on the entering rules though. As long as you are following my blog and have commented on my post you will be entered. Hurry though because it ends on Sunday! All entries need to be in by October 21st at 11:59 Atlantic Canada time. The draw will be random. May the odds be ever in your favour.

Now, for today’s post! So lately I have been doing a lot of research on what an empath is because I feel as though I probably am one. Empaths are people with the psychic ability to feel others emotions, energy, and pain. Today I am going to give you some signs that I’ve discovered from my research and signs I see in myself that I feel don’t get talked about.

#1 You feel overwhelmed in crowded areas and often feel unexplainable emotions.

So I experience this in anxiety. If I am in any large crowd I get very very anxious and I get very tired very quick. It makes no sense why I would feel this anxiety because there is nothing inherently scary or worrisome about crowds.

#2 You experience other’s pain.

This is one I don’t experience too much. The only thing I really experience in this area is if someone is really sick I experience a very heavy feeling in my chest. It makes it kinda hard to breath.

#3 You feel horrible and maybe even sick watching something horrible (like violence) in real life and even on tv.

So for me I can separate acting with real violence. But I will say watching stuff like wrestling on tv and stuff does make me really uncomfortable. I’ve also never understood people getting joy from watching a fight.

#4 You know when someone is lying.

So this means you are pretty good at knowing when someone is lying to you. It doesn’t mean that you know what the truth actually is however. I feel like I am pretty good at knowing a lie. I can only think of one person who is just so manipulative that I can’t figure her out.

#5 You feel the need to care for anyone in pain regardless of who they are or what they’ve done to you.

I am instinctually a very nurturing person. If anyone is hurting (emotionally or physically), even if they have done me wrong, I have to help them. Something I really struggle with is animals and children in pain. I have spent good amounts of time crying because I can’t bring home all the animals in a shelter, I have a sponsor child that I can’t afford right now and it is going to kill me inside when I cancel that sponsorship.

#6 People open up to you even if you don’t really want them to.

One thing I struggle with is people who I am not overly fond of feeling the need to open up to me and tell me their life struggles. The other day I had someone message me (who I haven’t seen since highschool and have never been a fan of) asking me about student loans and relationship advice. But, because I feel the need to help everyone, I talked to her anyway.

#7 When you experience other’s emotions you feel them even stronger than they do

This is one sign that I haven’t read about specifically but it is definitely something I experience. I am known for getting way more worked up about someone else’s problems then they themselves do. One constant example I have of this, is when my best friend tells me about the struggles she has at work with this one girl. My best friend will be a bit annoyed and I feel that emotion and it comes out of me as anger. This is just one example of this phenomenon

#8 You attract energy vampires

So at some point in your life, if you are an empath you will attract at least one energy vampire. An energy vampire is someone who wants to feed off your high vibrations. They’ll be that person that is super negative, always wants to talk about themselves and their problems. They don’t care about your problems and if you try to talk about what’s on your mind they’ll say you don’t care about them. They drain you of all the energy you have. I can think of a few people from my life so far that were definitely energy vampires.

#9 You are known for being a good listener

This kind of goes hand in hand with #8 and #6. You’re a fantastic listener and that’s why you will find people attracted to you and telling you everything. They instinctively know you’re going to be able to help them.

#10 You’re sensitive to antiques

This is one I really struggle with. I love antiques. I think they are so beautiful but, whenever I go into an antique shop, I leave feeling sad and exhausted. I find antiques tend to have a lot of old energy still attached to them. I also find that negative energy can be very overpowering compared to positive energy. This is probably why I leave sad. I try not to touch too many things when in an antique shop because I find that amplifies the emotions I feel. I now like to bring some crystals with me, in my pockets, to help keep the negativity away and keep my mood up.

#11 You’re an introvert

So if you don’t know, an introvert is someone who thrives being on their own and being with others can be very draining. I think many empaths are introverts because when you can feel others emotions being around others is very taxing. You also need to have time to yourself so you can recharge. Usually being an introvert isn’t too big of a deal but it can be very hard when you are in a situation where you can’t have the space to recharge.

Thank you for reading today’s post! Do you think I’m an empath or are you one? Let me know in the comments along with any other thoughts or questions. Make sure you follow me here and on twitter to get notifications on when I post. Until next time, Merry Meet and Blessed Be!

The Diet of a Wiccan

In Wicca there are numerous different ideas on what is okay to eat and what isn’t. The answer to what is okay is completely based on your personal belief system.

Some Wiccans are totally vegan. They don’t eat any meat or animal by-product. That means no milk, no eggs, no honey, etc. The idea behind this is people believe anything that comes from an animal is harming that animal. They believe milking the cows is harmful (physically or emotionally), they believe eating eggs is harmful because it kills the chick embryo inside, they don’t eat honey because they believe the process one goes to get the honey safely is harmful to the bees. Essentially they take the line “harm none, do as ye will” and interpret it in a way that makes the only thing they can do is be vegan.

Then there are Wiccans who are vegetarians. So they eat animal by-products but not meat. When they interpret “harm none, do as ye will” they don’t view milking cows, eating eggs, and and taking honey as harmful. Or they believe as long as you are granted permission from these animals to use their by-products that it is okay.

There are numerous different types of vegetarians. Up until recently I have been a pollo vegetarian. This means that the only meat I eat is poultry. The only reason why I did this is because I don’t feel I could have healthily been a complete vegetarian, as I am a bit finicky compared to the average person.

Lastly, we have your typical meat eaters. I think there are 2 main types of meat eaters. You have the ethically sourced meat eaters and then you have just your average joe. I am currently trying to be an ethically sourced meat eater. This means I am looking to purchase my meat from farms that I know have treated their animals well before they were put on my plate. So you can do this by hunting yourself, you can purchase a whole cow at an auction for slaughter. You can also purchase at local farmers markets or buy free range meat.

As for the regular meat eater they just don’t believe “harm none, do as ye will” is referring to food consumption. They typically believe the purpose of an animal is to be eaten and that’s that.

There is no right or wrong answer though (thankfully). What people eat is ultimately up to them and no one (let me repeat: no one) should be shamed for the meat they eat or don’t eat. No one is right and no one is wrong. Everyone has their own path to walk.

Thank you for reading! What are your views on meat/animal by-product consumption? Let me know in the comments along with any other thoughts or questions. Also, make sure you follow me hear and on twitter so you get notifications on when I post. Until next time, Merry Meet and Blessed Be!

What Messages do Butterflies Have for us?

Before we start I just wanted to say thank you to all my followers as I am only one follow away from having 50! This is so exciting. I hope you guys are all enjoying my content and maybe we’ll do something fun (like a video or something) when I get to 50. Now, on with the post!

download (2)

During different times in our lives we may notice that certain animals may present themselves to you either very frequently (more than normal) or in a unique way. When this happens it is pretty safe to say that you are trying to be given a message. This message could be from your spirit guides, a deities, just the earth as a whole, or anything really. I know it is summer time so butterflies are everywhere but I feel like I am seeing more than I normally do and I just have a gut feeling that all these butterflies mean something specific to me.

I already know that Aphrodite is a goddess that is part of my path. I’ve seen her in my meditations when I was learning reiki and butterflies are one of her symbols so I really feel like the message I’m receiving is from her. So given all this I thought it would be fun to write about what messages butterflies bring, so anyone else who is experiencing all the butterflies can understand what is trying to be said.

When you see the butterfly in your life you’re receiving a message about important physical and emotional changes that will transform your life. The butterfly reminds us to be positive and joyful during these changes. Butterflies also tend to gather around true love between people.

The butterfly could also be a message from a passed over love one, telling you that they are happy and safe.

Different coloured butterflies can also mean different things. I haven’t noticed a colour pattern so I think my message is simply one of change but for those of you noticing certain colours here is a guide for you.

White: blessed relationships and natural balance

Orange and black: find courage and strength to get through the changes happening in your life. Orange butterflies work closely with people who are or know someone in distress.

Orange and brown: symbolizes a conflict at hand and to be cautious in heated situations.

Blue: this butterfly sends a messaging of healing possibly for yourself or for someone you know. If it lands on you it means it recognizes you are a spirit of light. If you see them in your garden is means there are nymphs and/or faeries living in your garden.

Black and white: a great transformation is going to happen in ones life where all things can change in all areas of your life.

Yellow: a message of happiness, strength, and hope through adversity, getting through challenges, and a good sign that everything will work out in the end. Two yellow butterflies around each other is the sign for young love. If one is in your house take it as a blessing and a sign to bring plants in your home.

Green: Associated with the nature, mother earth, and all the elements. In a dream it can mean new friendship and love is on the way.

I hope you have found this helpful and thank you for reading. Have you been getting any messages lately? Let me know in the comments along with any other thoughts or questions! Also, make sure to follow me here and on twitter to get notifications on when I post. Until next time, Merry Meet and Blessed Be!

Spirit Guides

Right before I start this post, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a Q+A (about wicca, my relationship, family, me in general, whatever). If so please leave me some questions in the comments or message me them on twitter.

So, what are spirit guides? Well they are thought to be spirits that watch over you from your birth to your death. They can show themselves in different forms (humans, various animals, mythical creatures, etc) depending on what you’ll be most receptive to.

Spirit guides are thought to be souls that have completed their purpose and no longer need to reincarnate. They are there to watch over you, keep you safe, be your confidant, and to give you advise if you’re open to it. They overall, help guide your soul to completing it’s purpose. Some children are blessed to have found them early on and continue into adulthood to be in contact with them. I have a youtuber I follow (Hailey Reese) who has known her spirit guides a long time. I on the other hand have seen a glimpse of one (she’s an elderly woman, looks kinda stereotypically witchy) but other than that have not have the fortune of being in contact with them.

I do however feel they send me messages through animals. I go through different times of seeing the same animal a lot over a period of time. Most recently it was a butterfly. Some other ways they can send you messages is through signs (seeing something, not just animals, a lot in a period of time), gut feelings, intuitive insights (thoughts that seem to come out of nowhere), sending people into your life, arranging and nudging (spirit guides can cause things to happen in your life. For example, you lost your keys and you’re looking for them, then you get a very important phone call. If it wasn’t for you losing your keys you would have missed the phone call).

Some ways to more directly communicating with your spirit guides is to meditate. There are meditations on youtube designed for helping your find your spirit guides. Also pay attention to dreams as you may just find that the people in your dreams that you don’t recognize, or the animal that’s always in your dream, may just be your spirit guide. There is also divination. You can do tarot spreads to communicate with your spirit guides as well.

All in all keep an open mind and pay attention to your surroundings and you may just get some insight from those that watch over you from birth.

Thanks for reading! Make sure you follow me on here and on twitter (especially now that I’m travelling) for updates and notifications on when I post. Have you been in contact with your spirit guides? Have any thoughts or questions? Tell me about it in the comments. Merry Meet and Blessed Be!

The Celtic Pantheon

So today I thought it would be good to continue our talk about pantheons. A couple weeks ago I talked about greek which you can read here: The Greek Pantheon. This week I am going to talk about the Celtic pantheon. I did some research to find the “top” worshipped gods and goddesses so if you worship someone from this pantheon that I didn’t mention please put them in the comments and what they’re all about and I can add it my post!

Gods

Aengus – God of love and youth. Animals are cat, dove, sparrow, deer. The swan was his symbol.

Dagda – “The Good God” The father god. He is the god of the arts, knowledge, magic, music, prophecy, prosperity, and regeneration. His symbols were a club, bottomless cauldron of plenty, and the harp.

Cernunnus – “the horned one” He is the god of  hunting, animals, fertility, and nature in general. Animals that were sacred to him: bull, ran, stag, and horned serpents.

Arawn – God of the underworld, terror, revenge, and war. His animals are the stag and dogs. His symbol is the cauldron.

Goddesses

Morrigan – goddess of war and death. Morrigan’s main animal is the crow or raven. She is a triple goddess. Morrigan is Anand (or Anu), a goddess of fertility, Badb, a war goddess who transforms into a crow, and Macha, the death crone.

Danu – Matriarch of Power. She is the mother goddess. Symbolizes rivers, water, wells, prosperity, magick, and wisdom.

Brigit – she is the goddess of art, blooming of the spring season, healing, high dimensions, livestock, poetry, smithing, and springs. She is a a triple goddess. One is in charge of poetry and inspiration; one is in charge of midwifery and healing, and the last is in charge of crafts and smiths.

So these are just a few celtic gods and goddess. Here are some links to some celtic deity statues Danu statue, Morrigan statue, and Cernunnos statue. I hope you enjoyed todays post. If you have a celtic god or goddess that I didn’t post about tell me about them in the comments and leave any other thoughts or questions there as well. Make sure you subscribe to my blog and my twitter to get notifications on when I post. Until next time, Merry Meet and Blessed Be.

The Greek Pantheon

I figured it’s about time we started talking about pantheons since your pantheon is usually one of the first things you think about when starting the Wiccan path. A pantheon is the origin of the gods and goddesses you worship. There’s Greek, Roman, Norse, Celtic, Egyptian, and many many more. Today I thought it would be good to start with Greek as it is my pantheon and so it is what I am most familiar with. I obviously will not be able to account for all gods and goddess but I will include the main ones and any other I deem important in my craft.

Gods

Zeus: So this is the ruler of Olympus. He is the God of the sky, thunder/lightning. He is the wife of Hera. His symbol is the thunderbolt. His sacred animals are the eagle, wolf, and woodpecker. He is the father of many other deities as he was very adulterous.

Poseidon: He is Zeus’ brother and is the ruler of the sea. He was the god of the sea, earthquakes, storms, and horses. His symbol is the trident and his sacred animals are fish, dolphin, horse, and bull. He was often worshipped at a fertility God.

Hades: This is Zeus’ and Poseidon’s brother. He is the ruler of the underworld. His symbols are cerberus, drinking horn, and Cypress. He is known for abducting Persephone and making her his wife.

Ares: He is the son of Zeus and Hera. He is the God of war. His symbols are the spear, helmet, chariot, and flaming torch. His sacred animals are the dog, vulture, and Boar. He was known for being the lover of Aphrodite. He was the father of the Amazons.

Apollo: He is the son of Zeus and Leto. He is the twin brother of Artemis. He is the God of  music, poetry, art, oracles, archery, plague, medicine, sun, light, and knowledge. His symbols are the lyre, laurel wreath, bow, and arrows. His scared animals are the python, raven, wolf, swan, and dolphin.

Dionysus: He is the son of Zeus and Semele. He is the God of grape harvest, winemaking and wine, of ritual madness, religious ecstasy and theatre. His symbols are thyrsus, grapevine, and leopard skin. His sacred animals were the panther and the cheetah. He was considered one of the supreme rulers of the earth.

Hermes: He is the son of Zeus and Maia. He is the God of trade, thieves, travellers, sports, athletes, shepherds, land travel, and literature, and border crossings. His symbols are talaria, caduceus, and the lyre. His sacred animals are the tortoise and he rooster. He was the messenger of the Gods. He was considered the patron of poetry and brought the souls to the underworld. He was the only one other than Hades and Persephone that was allowed to come and go from the underworld without consequence.

Pan: He is the nature, wooded areas, pasturelands, and agriculture. He is a satyr. His symbols is reeds, and the pan flute. I consider him to be my patron.

Goddesses

Hera: She is the Queen of the Gods. She is the goddess of marriage, women, birth, and the Heavens. She is married to Zeus. Her symbols are diadem, scepter, and pomegranate. Her sacred animals are the peacock and cow.

Athena: She is the daughter of Zeus. She is the goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law and justice, strategic warfare, mathematics, strength, strategy, the arts, crafts, and skill. Her symbols are olive trees, aegis, armor, helmets, spears, gorgoneion. Her sacred animals are owls and snakes. She is said to have been born from Zeus’s head full grown and in armor.

Aphrodite: She is thought to be born from the foam in the waters of paphos due to Cronus throwing his slewn father’s (Uranus) genitals into the sea. She is the goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, and procreation. She is also the wife of Hephaestus. Her symbols are the rose, scallop shell, girdle, and mirror. Her sacred animals are dolphins, myrtle, dove, sparrow, and swan.

Artemis: She is the daughter of Zeus and Leto. She is the twin sister of Apollo. She is the goddess of the hunt, wild animals, wilderness, childbirth, forests and hills, the moon, archery, and virginity. She is also the protector of women and children. Her symbols are the bow and arrow, and the moon. Her sacred animals are stags, hunting dogs, bears, and deer.

Demeter: She is the goddess of agriculture, fertility, sacred law, and the harvest. Her symbols are the cornucopia, wheat, the torch, and bread. Demeter is the mother of Persephone. When Persephone was found to be tethered to the underworld after her abduction Persephone was granted to ability to be up on earth with her month 4 months of the year. You can see this in the seasons. In the spring demeter is looking forward to seeing her daughter, in the summer her daughter is there, in the fall and winter Demeter is missing her daughter more and more.

Gaia: She is the primordial earth, the mother goddess. She is the goddess of the earth, mother earth if you will. She is the mother of the titans. She is my matron.

Hecate: She is the goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, moon, ghosts, and necromancy. Her symbols are torches, keys, and crossroads. Her sacred animals are black dogs and polecats.

I’ve always felt deeply connected with the greek pantheon. I remember reading Percy Jackson and the Olympians and wishing I could believe in the gods and goddess the book talked about and now here I am.

I hope you guys enjoyed today’s post. If you have any thoughts or questions please feel free to leave them in the comments. What pantheon should I talk about next? Also make sure to subscribe so you get notifications when I post. Thanks for reading and until next time Merry Meet and Blessed Be.

What is a Familiar?

Familiars are an animal that helps you on your magickal journey. These animals tend to be cats. I’m not sure if it is just how it is or that there are familiars of lots of other animals but people aren’t open to them because they expect a cat. In general I have found there is no real consensus on what makes an animal a familiar rather than a pet. I have heard a few theories though.

One of these theories (that I don’t necessarily believe myself but who knows, may be true) is that in order for an animal to be a familiar it has to come to you. So if you adopt an animal from the shelter it can’t be a familiar because you found it and took it home. Along with this, the animal has to initiate making a pact with you. I’ve been told that familiars can speak to you in your head. It would sound like an actual conversation in your head. If this doesn’t happen, according to this theory, the animal is not your familiar.

kitty-moon-large-msg-130098910191.jpg

The way I feel about familiars is that it is animal that takes deep interest in your magickal, ritual, divination workings. When you’re making a sacred circle the animal joins you and you can feel the animal helping you raise the energies. You can trust this animal around your magickal tools (including fire) and know they will not disturb it. In general they just seem attracted to everything magickally and spiritually.

Is this all to say that you can’t say your pet is your familiar just because it feels right? No, not at all. At the end of they day this is your practice and only you know what is right in your beliefs. You have to trust your gut and do what makes you comfortable.

Myself, personally, I’m not sure if either of my cats are a familiar. At one point I thought my first and oldest kitten might be due to an experience during ritual I had with him, but it hasn’t happened again. My other kitten has yet to really suggest that he may be a familiar. At the same time though neither are a year old yet so they may just be too young right now to clue in to their familiar ways.
