When pulled upright is about a major disaster. Something big that wasn’t anticipated has made it’s way into your life. There is a good chance that this disaster has left you feeling betrayed as it is often about someone stabbing you in the back, figuratively of course. This reminds that that no matter how much we wish we did we do not control everything. This situation was unavoidable. Right now you probably have a self pitying attitude. Remember that when something comes to an end that something new will be coming too. Let go of that past and embrace the change as this is the direction your life was meant to go in.
When pulled in reverse this card is also about defeat. This tragedy was unavoidable and it has been building up for a long time over numerous past events. When reversed though there comes the understanding that you’ve hit rock bottom and there is nothing left that you can give anymore. Despite how terrible that sounds it means that nothing can get worse than this and things will only get better from here on out. But it is key to note that if you want things to start getting better you have to be the one to initiate this change. This is a chance to correct whatever it was that hurt you.
Here is a tarot spread for when you feel like you’re going through a mess. First I would take out the ten of swords and meditate on it thinking about the bad situation you’re going through. Then shuffle and pull the cards using your preferred method.

When pulled upright this card is about betrayal and deception. This card is typically about you, or someone you are close with, having a hard time getting away with something. Sometimes we have to be sneaky in hopes that no one finds out. However when someone finds out we do have to face the consequences. This tends to happen when you have to react quickly and you act out of character. You may be trying to sneak out of a situation due the the situation no longer working as you thought. Instead of dealing with the issue head on you may try to sneak out of it hoping no one will notice your absence. You are likely hoping the situation will go away with time and you won’t have to deal with it however that is not the case. Ignoring the situation has actually made it worse. When you get this card you really need to think about whether not dealing with the issue is going to turn out okay or make it worse. It may seem like not facing it has worked out for you only to later realize that it’s blown up in your face. In some situations this card can also be about a wanting to “go solo”. You may want to go on an adventure on your own or just wanting to spend more time to yourself. This can be really great to explore your independence.
When pulled in reverse can have a few different meanings. One meaning can be that you need to change the way you’re doing things. The way you’ve been approaching things just isn’t working. This card can also be about a more extreme version of the upright card, in the sense of cunning victory achieved by deception and trickery. On the flip side it can also be about developing a conscience. You or someone you are close with may finally be coming clean about any manipulative things they’ve done. The trust people have had in you may be gone but with this honesty you may start gaining this trust back. This card is really about trying to be more collaborative rather than your usual method of independence.
Here is a tarot spread dedicated to the seven of swords! First thing I would do is take the card out and meditate on it while thinking about what it is that you’re trying to avoid. Then I would shuffle and pull the cards using your preferred method.

When upright this card is about rejection, betrayal, hurt, and discouragement. The key is to really use your logic over your emotions in this and the discomfort you experience will be minimal. However it is important to remember, that although unpleasant, pain and grief are a normal part of life and makes it so we can appreciate joy and happiness. So although the three of swords speaks about suffering, it is the type of suffering necessary to make us stronger people. The three of swords is there to encourage us to get back up when we’ve been knocked down. Any suffering you experience in this world is there to help you find a deeper meaning in the world. This card shows itself to prepare you for the next stage in your life.
When pulled in reverse this card is about having experienced some sort of loss, break up, or some amount of grief. It is possible that you are still recovering from this turmoil and so you may find it hard to move on. This card is telling you that it is time to let go of that hurt and to move towards the rest of your life because there is much joy to be experienced still. The issue is most people can’t see that joy will come back into their lives again and so they get stuck in a rut unable to continue the recovery process. Remember the message of the three of swords is that the pain all has a end and joy will come back to your life if you let it.
Here is a tarot spread to help you let go and to give you a glimpse of the joy you have coming your way. First I would take the three of swords and meditate on it while thinking about the joy you want to manifest into your life. Then shuffle and pull the cards using your preferred method.

So in the last week of June my partner and I will be going on a 10 day vacation and one of our stops is going to be 2 days in Salem. So I thought it would be fun if today I kind of post our itinerary and then the Wednesday after our trip I make a big post about what exactly we did, what we thought of each thing and then some pictures!
Also key to note that any prices I provide are in USD.
So day one will be spent absorbing all the knowledge I can get.
- First stop will be the Salem witch museum.
- For your knowledge the pricing is $13 for an adult, $11.50 for seniors, and $10 for kids 6-14. Presumably kids 5 and under are free.
- Salem witch trials memorial is the second stop
- I read online that one should do the museum first (as we plan to) to have more context. As long as you aren’t doing a tour this is free to my knowledge.
- Charter st cemetery is third on the list
- This cemetery is right beside the Salem witch trials memorial so it is a good spot to head to right after there
- I would assume it is free as long as it isn’t a guided tour
- The Howard st cemetery
- This is said to be the cemetery that Giles Corey was pressed to death
- And as the rest of the places of rest should be free
Most of this day will be just appreciating the city for what it is a city. We’ll go and check out local stores and just see other none witchy sites. However if the day end up drawing out a bit I have a couple places we could go to check out.
- The Witch House
- Witch History Museum
- I found the price at one point but can’t seem to find it again
- I read that this museum focuses more on witchcraft rather than the trials.
One thing that we will be doing later on in the evening is going on a walking tour. The tour we are going to go on is by hocus pocus tours. I’ll leave a link here if you want to know more about it. However if you just want to know the price it is Adults: $17, Seniors (65 & up): $15, Military Service Members: $15, Students: $15, Children (Ages 5-12): $10. Prices change a bit in October.
So that is all for today’s post. Make sure you stay tuned so you can hear about how the trip went and what I think of the various locations. Have you been to Salem? Let me know if you think there’s place I should visit that I haven’t mentioned, along with any other thoughts or questions you may have. Make sure you follow me here and on twitter so you get notifications when I post and when I upload videos to youtube. Until next time, Blessed Be!
When pulled upright this card is about hope. When you see this card it is about your life and just how many troubling times you have overcome due to your determination and will. Despite how much you’ve already been through there are still some trials left but if you keep hope and approach your problems head on you will be successful. This card can also be about betrayal which has caused you to not trust others. Whatever the betrayal was it probably has happened a number of times and it seems hopeless. This however is not true. If you search deeper you will find that hope and courage. Someone or something may come into your life and change your whole viewpoint on your previous struggles.
When pulled in reverse this card is about not being a risk taker. They struggle making long term goals or commitments as they are afraid their decision is irreversible. They don’t trust others so they are putting barriers up between them and others. There is also a potential fear that they don’t have the resources to face the upcoming challenges which you may be considering running away from or just avoiding. Despite your desire to avoid this challenge you need to confront it. This challenge could be stopping you from growing. This card encourages you to be brave, however do not be careless or make impulsive decisions that will effect you in the future. Lastly, this card is about a mental/personal fear that is crucial to get past overcome so it doesn’t consume you or hold you back.
Considering that this card is about having challenges that require hope and not trusting others, I thought that this would be a good spread. When you do this spread meditate on the nine of wands. While you do this think about the challenges in your life that you could use some hope for. When you’re ready shuffle and pull the cards using your preferred method.
