Tarot Series~Minor Arcana: Queen of Swords

e533089cb4b5e26f510634cf8ed5e8f7.jpg

When pulled upright this card represents a person who older and wiser. Due to being a queen card they tend to be of someone with femininity however the queen of swords is considered to be the most masculine queen card. This person may come off as very stern and emotionless. This card really encourages you to use your logic before making any decisions as relying on emotions is not the best idea in all circumstances. Despite this, this person does have compassion. They like to connect with others with their intellect. This card is also telling you that you need to be more independent with your judgments. You need to start using your intelligence to come up with your opinions. Take the time to research both sides of an issue before you come to a conclusion that way you aren’t biased. Empathy and compassion when coming to these conclusions is not beneficial as it can distract you from the facts. The goal is to stay objective. This card can also be about how we communicate with others. This card encourages you to be honest and blunt. This gets rid of any confusion and miscommunications. The person this card is referring to may talk like this and if that’s the case you need to communicate the same way back. They will appreciate it.

When pulled in reverse this card is about thinking too much with your heart rather than your brain. You are becoming to involved emotionally with the situation you’re in. This card is warning you to think logically more because your emotions could be leading you down the wrong path. Really take some time and think about the situation and what is actually happening, not what your emotions are assuming is happening. Only when you’ve done that will know what you need to do next. This card can also be about someone who is bitter, coldhearted, and resentful. There is a chance you’ve started to isolate yourself more for various reasons but the people who care about you may not understand your motive. Pushing others away could really strain your relationships so you may want to consider talking to those people and letting them know how you’re feeling.

Sorry for the profanity but I feel like this tarot spread will help you when it comes to using your logical mind. It lets you focus in on what the issue is and gives you tips on how to start making your objective viewpoint. First I would take the queen of swords out of the deck and meditate on it thinking about what this issue/situation/disagreement/whatever is. Then shuffle and pull the cards using your preferred method.

Tarot Series~ Minor Arcana: Knight of Swords

63951679f53b24efd6f0ad0e2898a5bd

When pulled upright this card represents someone who is so focused on a certain idea, that they become oblivious to any difficulties; conflicts; or consequences it brings us, as they try to achieve it. This card is about someone full of life and energy but they need to make sure they are balancing themselves out with a good dose of compassion and responsibility. The person this card represents, is someone who once they have set their mind to something there is no stopping them. While this can be a great trait as it shows ambition and dedication it can also have some downfalls. Some of the things this person might be willing to do to achieve their goal could have some very serious consequences. They are likely prone to move ahead without any preparation or foresight, which can put them in a dangerous (or at the very least unpleasant) situation.

When pulled in reverse this card is about someone who is extremely impatient, impulsive, and full of energy. However unlike the person the upright card represents this person has no direction, despite their abundance in energy. This causes a lot of rash decisions which can drag others down with them. This person likely has a lot of scattered thoughts and they don’t tend to take the time to go through them and organize them. It is quite likely that they are a disorganized person. When they do finally have something they want to achieve with all that energy they have they are likely very unprepared due to this lack of organization.

Here is a tarot spread to help you find some direction for all that energy you have. First I would take out the knight of swords and meditate on it thinking about your directionless energy that you have. Then shuffle and pull the cards using your preferred method.

Grieving as a Wiccan

Lately I’ve been grieving a lot. This last month or two has been pretty hard. So today I want to talk to you about that. I’ve wanted to talk about it for a while but I wasn’t sure how to format it. So I’m just deciding to write. It may be super long or super short but I think writing this will get it off my chest. My writing style may be a bit different than it usually is, it may not be… I dunno. Regardless I hope you don’t mind.

maxresdefault (5)

The Thursday before the Easter weekend I was contacted by my family, while at work, that my great grandmother wasn’t doing very well. She’s hasn’t been super healthy for a couple years now but nothing crazy. However this time was different. My mom usually tells me that it isn’t anything to worry about yet, but this time she said I might want to come home and see her. So there I was in front of my preschoolers that I teach and I just cried. I told them what was wrong and let me tell you, 4 year olds are so compassionate and loving. They loved me and snuggled me all day long. It was so beautiful. I went to see her that weekend. I live about 3 hours away from my family. My partner and little sister went in with me to see her. She had a hard time talking cause her breathing was very laboured but we had a great visit. That’s the last time I will see my great grandmother. She’s still alive though. When I went to see her she was at her home. Now she is in a hospital and has been for a couple weeks now. My mom says she isn’t the same nan we know and love and that she wouldn’t want me to see her this way. She’s in a lot of pain and is just waiting to die. Every morning I wake up and check my phone to see if I have a message telling me she’s passed. I hope she does soon so she can be at peace. She really hates hospitals. So this is when my grieving started.

Back in March one of the little girls at my preschool (we’ll call her Mabel for privacy sake) went to Florida with her family for a trip. The second day in she got very sick and started having seizures. She had to be put in the hospital. She had what they call F.I.R.E.S. I am not super knowledgeable on what it is. All I know is it’s rare, it started as a common cold, and she had seizures, also 30% of those who get it die from it. However I didn’t know that at the time. It never occurred to me that she would die. Maybe that is naive but that’s how I felt. For two months I had very few updates other than a gofundme page and occasionally something would get written on her classroom attendance sheet about it. Then I came in to work last Friday (the 10th) and was told she didn’t make it. Mabel was 4 years old. I know a dead 4 year old. I was nervous for my kids to find out. I didn’t want them to be sad or scared they were going to die. But when you’re 4 years old 2 months is a long time and a lot of them didn’t remember Mabel very well. I was lucky in that sense so instead of being sad they just had a lot of questions which was a lot easier to deal with. This last Thursday (the 16th) I went to Mabel’s funeral. I wore a pink dress (everyone was in bright pinks and purples as requested by Mabel’s family). It was one of the saddest things I have ever experienced.

angel-human

I’m telling you all of this for a couple reasons. One reason is that talking about this I hope will be a little therapeutic for me. I also wanted everyone to understand why my posting has been so inconsistent these last few weeks (also why it may continue to be inconsistent when my nan passes). But also I wanted to share how I am coping as a Wiccan (or if I’m not already doing these things they are things I want to start doing to cope).

What is helping me cope with Nan is first and foremost I know that her passing is going to bring her peace. But also I know that her soul will reincarnate and I will meet it again whether in this life or the next. I’m really trying to focus on the fact that she lived such a great and beautiful life and not on the fact that she’ll be gone.

What is helping me the most when it comes to coping about Mabel is also related to reincarnation but it is a bit different. If you’ve read my post about the signs you are an earth angel you will know that many of these people die as a child. When I think about Mabel, and the beautiful energy her soul had, I confidently feel she had the soul of an angel. Without a doubt. So despite the fact that I don’t totally understand how she died, I can understand why she died and that to me brings great peace.

However other than thinking about these things I have not done much to cope but have just not been thinking about it and it’s probably not the most healthy method of healing. Things that I want to start incorporating into my coping process that you can try too is reiki (be it self reiki or receiving reiki from someone else). I also want to pray more. As I’ve mentioned in my post about my relationship with praying , I tend to stray away from it because it reminds me of Christianity. I think grieving may be a great way for me to change that relationship with prayer because at the end of the day you can pray to whoever or whatever you want, not just the Christian god. So I’d like to reach out to Gaia and Pan more for strength and you can do the same with whoever you matron or patron is. I think meditating and grounding myself will also help me stabilize my emotions. And the last thing I want to suggest for myself and for you is divination. Do spreads to help sort through your emotions. Do spreads for how to cope. Do spreads to talk to those that have passed on if you think that will give you closure. Do a spread to see how your future will be after you’ve moved forward from this hard time.

I hope that this post gives you some ideas on how to cope with what you’re struggling with and also lets you know that even if it feels like you’re all alone and no one understands that there are people who get it (yikes that was cheesy but bear with me). Let me know down below how you use your Wiccan/Pagan faith to get you through times of grief along with any other thoughts or questions you have. Make sure you follow me here and on twitter so you get notifications when I post and when I upload videos to youtube. And until next time, Blessed Be!

Tarot Series~Minor Arcana: Queen of Cups

Crystal Visions - Queen of Cups

When pulled upright this card is about a person who is compassionate, caring, sensitive, and nurturing. It can also be referring to someone who you are, or will be, connecting to on an emotional level. When you get this card it could be a suggestion for you to find and accept help from others. When you get this card it is most often referring to a female who will be entering into your life. This card also refers to a someone who is highly intuitive. The card also asks you to trust your inner voice. You should take the time to really focus on your emotional health before you try and tackle others issues. Self love is crucial to become more compassionate. This card can also be in reference to your relationships. You may be someone else’s rock and are what keeps them going. It could also be here to say you are here to teach others with your intuition rather than your logic. This card describes someone who thinks with their heart rather than their mind. It also describes someone who is not very rational nor has much common sense. They are more intuitive, dreamy, and psychic. If the logical approach isn’t working for you the queen of cups could be your answer.

When pulled in reverse this card is about someone who is not very in-tune with their emotions. You may feel restricted in how you can express the way you feel. You are likely prone to bottling up how you feel however this is not effective. It will be very damaging and you can expect to boil over and lashout. You may also have high levels of stress that you are unsure of how to cope with. On the other hand this card can be suggesting that you are letting your mind wander too far and your imagination is getting away from you. Despite that you mean well you should take a moment and think about whether or not you can trust your emotions as you are likely letting them control you. Really think about whether the dreams you have can be turned into a reality. You should try and stabilize your emotions so you know when your emotions are getting the best of you.

Here is a tarot spread for those of you not sure what you’re feeling inside and what emotions aren’t worth your energy. First I would take the queen of cups out of the deck and meditate on it while really focusing on your feelings. Then shuffle and pull the cards using your preferred method.

Tarot Series~Minor Arcana: Three of Cups

5fd46ea11ca22516add9ccba6c800ffd

When pulled upright this card is about happiness. The worries in your day to day life will go away from your mind and you will be able to spend some time with your friends and family. This card could be about a happy reunion with a friend from the past, relative you haven’t spoken to in years, or a loved one. This card may also be indicative of a celebration. It could be one for yourself or someone else. This celebration could be a wedding, birthday, graduation, etc. The three maidens depicted in the card symbolize your friends who you go to for love, compassion, and support. If you’ve been struggling socially this card may represent the end of those struggles.

When pulled in reverse this card is about not having the time to socialize with friends. You may be too caught up in school or work. This card can also be about you losing touch with old friends and as time goes by you may find you are growing apart from one another. As we get older we need to make sure we are still putting in an effort to maintain our friendships. This card could also mean that balance is lacking within your circle of friends. You may find that there is a lot of gossip and drama. Envy is probably a hidden problem your circle of friends are having and this may leave you feeling isolated.

Here is a nice little spread to help you figure out if the friendships in your life are good ones or negative ones. Before you start I would take out the three of cups and meditate on it while thinking about a certain friend you want to know about (or your circle of friends as a whole). After this, shuffle and pull your cards using your preferred method.

11 Signs You’re an Earth Angel/Angel Incarnate

Hi everyone! Sorry about the little hiatus for the holidays. I was spending a lot of time with my friends and family. I hope you enjoyed the holidays and are excited for the new year. While I was seeing family I started talking to my dad about my brother, my half-sister, and I all potentially being starseeds and how I think he might be one too. However he told me about how he has had 3 different peoples on separate occasions refer to him as an earth angel or an angel incarnate. So we did a little research and this is what we found.

So, what is an earth angel/angel incarnate? First lets start with saying some sources say they are the same and some say they aren’t. I am going to be assuming they are the same. They are similar to starseeds in the sense that it is a person who’s soul originates from someone who is not human. These beings souls are that of an angel and they have reincarnated into a human form in order to complete their purpose here on earth. When reincarnated into a human form they have to forget their angelic origins. Living on earth is so different compared to how angels would normally live that in order to not be completely miserable they have to forget the way of life they’re used to. Picture knowing you can fly but not actually being able to. Below are some signs that you may be an earth angel/angel incarnate with some examples to how these signs show up in my dad.

#1 You’ve always been connected to nature, mythical creatures, and the meaning of life.

I obviously can’t vouch for how my dad felt about all these things as a child but since I’ve been alive he’s always enjoyed going out on nature walks and camping. Since he was a teenager at least he has always been interested in fantasy books and dungeons and dragons which all have to do with mythical creatures. As for whether or not he is interested in exploring the meaning of life, I would say he is. We talk about our purposes here and origin together often.

#2 You are interested in philosophy, alternative methods of healing, and the metaphysical.

We have not discussed it much because it goes over my head but my dad is quite interested in philosophy. He has taken quite a few classes in Reiki and uses it frequently, if not on a daily basis. As for the metaphysical, I think this topic I am writing about alone is considered metaphysical in itself.

#3 Relationships may be difficult due to being attracted to abusive partners or partners with deep-emotional issues.

My dad has been struggling with finding a long lasting relationship for a while. Every time he thinks things are going well they’ll break up because she’s going through some emotional baggage.

#4 You may often space out, have lucid dreams, vivid dreams, daydreams, or astral projections.

My dad has told me as a kid he would have lucid dreams every night and he could do whatever he wanted in them. If a dream became to overwhelming he could just tell himself to wake up. However, he has told me that as an adult he has stopped remembering his dreams when he wakes up.

#5 You have a hard time with communication so you do so through art, music, writing, and healing.

I don’t know about my dad’s art skills but I do know he enjoys and is great at singing and writing. And, as said above, he does a lot of reiki.

#6 You are not comfortable with your physical body especially your feet, due to being used to flying.

This one gives me a chuckle, because it’s so specific and relevant, as my dad has always had an issue with his feet.

#7 People tell you you look way younger than you are.

As a teenager people always thought my dad was my age. I think this was a mix of him looking young, due to being an earth angel, and me being more mature for my age, due to being a crystal child.

#8 You are in a job where you care for others in one way or another.

When I was a child my dad helped care for people with additional needs. For the last 10ish years my dad has been working as a CCA, which is someone who cares for the elderly, in long-term care facilities or in the clients home.

#9 They are often incarnated in a family that has some sort of dysfunctionality to it. That could be through addictions, mental illness, abuse, etc. They do this to bring light to the family.

Due to privacy I will not go into detail but I will say it is relevant for my dad.

#10 Although they do not keep their wings physically they keep them etherically.

When my dad was getting reiki done, the woman, who was doing the healing, said she saw angel wings coming from my dad. He has also had angels come in the rooms he was getting reiki done in before.

#11 You have a tendency to feel different and alienated from others

My dad has had a hard time making and keeping friendships which could be linked to this.

Something else that I have learned about earth angels/incarnated angels is that they tend to only live until they have completed their purpose. Many actually die as infants. However some do live to adulthood and settle down and have kids, if their purpose is to be done as an adult. Something I wondered is if his purpose was to bring 3 starseeds (each of a different type) together. Therefore he would have had my brother and I (an indigo and a crystal) and then divorced my mum. Then my mom would remarry and create a stable family for my sister the rainbow child who was attracted to our family due to there already being two other starseeds in the home. His purpose not being over could be explained by him still teaching and helping my brother and I (which would allow me to teach and help my half sister). Just a thought and I would love to hear you opinion about it in the comments along with any other thoughts or questions. Make sure you follow me here and on twitter so you get notification on when I make posts and when I upload videos to youtube. Until next time, Blessed Be.

11 Signs you may be a Crystal Child

Today we are going to continue to talk about the different types of starseeds. Last week we talked about Indigo children and today we are going to talk about Crystal children. If you want to know more about starseeds in general click here. If you want to know about Indigo children click here.

What is a Crystal child? They are a group of people who started coming to this world around the 90’s. The Indigo children tore apart the institution and now the crystal children are help building back up. They show us that humanity is evolving. They are role models that are not ruled by their ego but rather by their higher self. I believe I may be a crystal so with each sign I give below I will leave an example of how I see it in myself.

#1 They are creative

This can be through art, writing, music, dance, etc. Personally I have been dancing since I could walk and singing for the same amount of time. As a child I was very gifted with the fiddle (although I’ve lost that talent as I stopped playing).

#2 They are natural healers

I have always had a knack for healing others emotions and have always been the one to help family when sick. I also am now trained in reiki healing as well.

#3 They are fascinated by crystals

I absolutely love them. Rose Quartz is my favourite and it what I am most connected to. I also have lots of black tourmaline, clear quartz, amethyst, and citrine. I hope to have a lot more someday.

#4 They love nature, animals, plants, trees, etc

My favourite place to be is in the forest. I love laying underneath a tree and just quietly observe everything around me. I love gardening. I even talk to my plants to help them grow. I am obsessed with animals and feel like I can never have enough animal companions in my home.

#5 They are empathetic

I personally believe I am an empath. I have always been very in tune to others emotions and find I take them on myself. Being in public can be very overwhelming due to feeling all these emotions.

#6 They have an intense stare and large penetrating eyes

My eyes are known to be piercing. They are a very unique icy blue that I’ve only seen a few people who are in my family also have. I always get comments about how piercing they are and as a kid I was often told they were “freaky” by the other kids.

#7 Uncomfortable in large crowds or loud places

Being in large crowds makes me very anxious. This is also due to being an empath. It is very overwhelming and so much to take in. It is often too much for me and results in me needing to spend a lot of time alone afterwards.

#8 They need very nurturing and loving environments to thrive.

My parents are divorced and growing up they had 2 very different styles of parenting. My mother was well intentioned but overly strict. She made it feel like I lived in a prison. My father on the other hand was a lot more on the nurturing side and more about gaining privileges rather than losing them. I thrived a lot more at my father’s and overall was a lot happier.

#9 Their parents are often Indigos

This one I am still trying to figure out if it is true or not. See my brother and I are full blood related and my sister is half blood related through our mom. I feel like all of us are starseeds. That would make my mom an indigo. I however am not sure if she is though. That is something I am still discovering. I can however see my dad being an Indigo. That wouldn’t explain my sister though. Unless instead of being born due to my mother being an indigo she was born into a family that just already had starseeds.

#10  Wise beyond their years

Growing up (especially in my pre-teens/early teens) adults always thought I was older than I really way. I was always told I seemed wiser and more mature than those my age. Maybe it had to do with being a crystal all along.

#11 Non-verbal

This is one that does not apply to me. That is normal since everyone is different, and not all symptoms or signs are the same for everyone when it comes to anything in life. However it is common that crystal children don’t start speaking until their toddler years. Sometimes they are even diagnosed with ASD (autism spectrum disorder). The reason for their lack of speech is because they can communicate telepathically and therefore don’t feel the need to speak to get their points across.

Thanks for reading! Are you a crystal? Let me know in the comments along with any other thoughts or questions you may have. Also, make sure you check out my post about empaths to enter the giveaway. I am making an adjustment on the entering rules though. As long as you are following my blog and have commented on my post you will be entered. Hurry though because it ends on Sunday! Lastly, make sure you follow me on here and on twitter so you get notifications on when I post. Until next time, Merry Meet and Blessed Be.

11 Signs You’re an Indigo Child

While I was researching about being an empath, I came across information about starseeds. As you know, if you’ve read my post about starseeds, starseeds are people whose soul originate from a different planet. There are different types of starseeds but in general there are 3 main types. There are the indigo, the crystal, and the rainbow children. While doing my research I found I realized that myself, my brother, and my sister all have characteristics of each type of starseed. My brother matches the general description of an indigo. I match the crystal and my little sister matches the rainbow. Today I am going to talk about the indigo children. Do remember though that this is a general description and you may not fit with all of these signs. That’s okay, every soul is different. When I get to the signs of being an indigo child, I will give examples about my brother and how I see each trait in him.

So what exactly is an indigo child? An indigo child is a soul that originates from a different planet. That soul comes to earth to help improve it. An indigo tends to be the person tearing down the institutions. They seek the truth and are quite good at telling when they are being deceived, even at a young age. Another thing to note is a lot of indigo children are diagnosed with ADD/ADHD or other mood disorders. Indigos tend to be headstrong and freethinking which to the medical field can look like these types of disorders. (This is not to say that all children with ADD/ADHD are Indigo children.)

#1 You are strong willed.

My brother is a very strong willed person. Our parents are divorced and as a kid he always did whatever he wanted. I would let myself feel guilty for wanting to spend time with one parent over the other, and would never have the will to ask permission to be with that parent. My brother though had no issues. He would demand what he wanted. Now as a young adult my brother has moved to the city I live in. It is 3 hours away from our family. Everyone tried to tell him to stay in our hometown. No one thought he would be able to make it. Now he’s living in an apartment, working, and reaching his goals.

#2 You’re a freethinker

So this means you don’t just follow with whatever society says. You think for yourself and you make your own decisions. My brother is definitely a freethinker. I tend to side with society and so when it comes to me making decisions it happens rather quickly because I don’t think freely. My brother though he thinks for himself and makes choices for himself. This often results in me not agreeing because it is often the opposite of what I would do. But at the end of the day he does what he wants without the worry of society and I think he is better for it.

#3 You’re a nonconformist

When you’re a child this probably looks like disobedience, and being a troublesome kid. As an adult it probably shows itself in not liking to be controlled by others. My brother has always taken the harder road. He could never just do what was told of him and listen to authority. He always had to do the exact opposite and learn everything the hard way. He learns best from mistakes rather than reflecting on the things he’s done right. This is neither bad or good. It just is.

#4 . You’re a truth seeker

The truth is important to you. You are quite good at being about to tell when you are being lied to or if someone is hiding something from you. I think this is a very personal trait and is something I can’t really give examples of for my brother. I feel he is the only one who really knows how he feels about this.

#5 You are highly intuitive

For my brother I feel this comes up in him being an empath. He is very good at picking up others emotions. I believe he draws a lot of low energy people, a lot of energy vampires. He has always attracted a lot of people with depression and other mental illnesses. He has such a nurturing personality that these energy vampires take advantage of him and use up all his energy. This is physically harmful for him because he is literally always sleeping. He’s always so drained. So while being intuitive can be a blessing, make sure the indigo in your life is not being taken advantage of for it.

#6 You want to change the world

This could be in big things or smaller things. Maybe some people will want to be a president, or a scientist, or a humanitarian. My brother he has all these aspirations to work in various selfless fields. Next fall he is going to be going into human services. He is currently working on getting all the needed credits to become a paramedic and he also wants to get a certificate in early childhood education. He is currently a lifeguard. He loves working with children with additional needs. He wants to change the world a little at a time.

#7 You’re empathetic and compassionate.

I kind of already covered this in sign #5. But ya even if you aren’t an empath you will likely be an empathetic and compassionate person. You feel things so intensely that sometimes it even hurts. This high level of empathy can also cause depression and anxiety. I don’t know if it still affects him to this day but these were definitely issues he was dealing with when he was younger.

#8 You’re a leader

You may find you have a hard time working in teams or for other people. My brother has always been someone who questions authority. He never just gives respect to someone simply because they are of authority. You have to earn that from him and it isn’t easy. He definitely enjoys being in charge of himself.

#9 You have a loner personality

You find it difficult to be around too many people at once and often prefer to spend your time alone. My brother growing up was always alone in his room. He never wanted to be around any of us and was always much happier doing his own thing.

#10 You struggle with boredom

You tend to struggle with routine and structure. Because of this and your inability to stay focused you may have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD. My brother has been diagnosed since he was in about grade 2. Boredom is definitely something he struggles with. It has been more obviously since he has moved from our hometown.

#11 You are fiery tempered

You are likely quick to anger. There is likely a mix of reasons to this. Your empathy, being strong willed, being a truth seeker, and not conforming to society or authority. Anger issues is something my brother has struggled with all his life. I’ve never really understood why but maybe this is the reason.
