Tarot Series~Minor Arcana: Nine of Swords

830bdb93cbfa6767c3b893c1ff93e665--tarot-card-art-tarot-cards

When pulled upright is about fear and anxiety, especially about the things that you worry about and that you think of while you’re trying to sleep. This card could be about trauma as well. You might feel self-conscious about this trauma and may be anxious about telling anyone about it as well as the emotional issues you have from the trauma. Swords cards are very much about the mind, logic, and intellect and the nine of swords really focus in on the negative aspects of that. You can’t seem to turn your brain off and are full of questions, and constantly thinking about all the possibilities that could happen. This card is also about how something that troubled you in the past, that you thought you managed to avoid and get past, is becoming an issue again. You should consider talking to someone about it because then at least you don’t have to carry this burden on your own. If this is something that has less to do with trauma and more to do with just general anxiety then you need to think about if this is something that you can control. Is there something that you can do or change that will help alleviate this anxiety? Focus on the things you can control.

When pulled in reverse this card is also about being affected by nightmares, anxiety, and stress. Something traumatic that happened before is resurfacing and overwhelming you. However despite all of this there is more hope than there is with the upright version. In the upright version you are kind of wallowing and not trying to actively feel better, but when the card is in reverse you do have that motivation. However you have to actually take action to see any change. Nothing will get better if you do not make an effort to leave it behind. It is important to remember that even though there is hope of getting through this there is the chance of things getting worse if you don’t make the effort to get through this rut. It is all on you to avoid that. If you push yourself you could find yourself out of this rut but if you don’t push yourself you can sink farther into it.

Here is a tarot spread to help you get through your anxiety and stress. First I would take out the nine of swords and meditate on it while focusing on your anxieties and stressors in your life right now. Then shuffle and pull using your preferred method.

Tarot Series~Minor Arcana: Page of Cups

a7b413f1b26dc063a27ec11585e27bd8

When pulled upright this card is about how you need to be open to new ideas, especially ones that come to you through your own intuition. Even though these intuitive ideas may have come unexpected it it important that you embrace them. These ideas can lead you on a new journey and open many doors for you. This card really puts an emphasis on creative doings. So if your new idea is music/art related really grab on to it and don’t let go. This card also suggests that you if you are struggling with something you should try looking at it from a different angle. This card is also about being persistent as persistence is the only way to achieve all that you desire. Always make sure you follow your intuition, fulfill your calling in life, and always believe anything and everything is possible. If you are someone who struggles with showing their emotions the page of cups is telling you now is the time. Both your creative and emotional side need to be expressed regardless of how unimportant they seem to you. A big reason many people struggle showing their emotions is because their ego won’t allow it. Take this card as a sign saying that it is okay to let those walls down and start a new beginning so you can become the real you.

When pulled in reverse this card is about being in a creative block. There are projects in your life that you started due to the joy it brought you but as of late you have been doing it for other reasons; be it money, fame, obligation, what have you. This card is telling you to remember why you started this and to bring the joy back into your project. Doing this will remove your creative block that you’re dealing with. This card could also be referring to a troubled person. This person is afraid of their reality right now. This fear could be due to emotions, finances, illnesses or something else entirely. Due to this fear you may find them trying to escape their reality through the abuse of drugs, alcohol, sex, etc. This person could be you or it could be a loved one who is struggling with self-acceptance. This card can be about someone having a lack of inspiration, self-worth, and/or someone who is depressed.

Here is a tarot spread for those of you who struggle to understand their emotions. The first step of expressing them is to understand them. First I would take the page of cups out of the deck and meditate on it thinking about how you have been feeling lately. Then shuffle and pull the cards using your preferred method.

Tarot Series~Minor Arcana: Eight of Cups

When pulled upright this card is about a time of change. In order for this change to occur there is something you need to walk away from. We all need to transform ourselves throughout our lives now and again. This is especially true when you’re tired of living your everyday life. Now is the time to go on a journey that will bring you to a better understanding on life in general. This card shows that you aren’t happy with the way your life is right now and you need to get in touch with your higher purpose. You may have been trying a bunch of things without committing yourself to try and see what it is you want from life but it is becoming exhausting. It seems like you need to step out of your comfort zone and get away from what is familiar. This card typically shows that one is tired of the material world and is getting reading to undergo a spiritual journey.

When pulled in reverse this card is about being really confused because you are not sure what direction you should be going in life. This confusion is usually caused because you are not sure what path is best for you. This can often lead to people moving aimlessly through life with no real goals. They just go with wherever their life takes them. It is also possible that you are aware of all this and that you need to pick your path a go with it. You likely haven’t been happy for a little while now but in order to achieve the happiness you want you need to go down a new path. Leaving everything you know behind to pursue something new can be really scary as you are not only experiencing change but you are also leaving the comfort you’ve grown accustom to. This is all however necessary to get where you need to go. This causes a lot of people to be stuck in this limbo of making an important decision. I think a good, common, example of this is when you’re unhappy in a relationship. Do you continue being with this person despite being unhappy because it is comfortable? Or do you break up to find happiness elsewhere but experience the extreme discomfort of starting over? It is important to have courage and to believe you deserve the happiness you crave.

Here is a tarot spread to help you on your path to transformation. First I would take the eight of cups out of the deck and mediate on it while thinking about what isn’t making you happy anymore. Then put the card back in the deck and shuffle and pull using your preferred method.

Tarot Series~Major Arcana Card 18: The Moon

crystal-visions-tarot

When pulled upright this card can mean that your imagination is taking the best of you. You are going down a path that you aren’t entirely sure of and it very well could be dangerous. The light of the moon in this card can bring you clarity and understanding. You should let your intuition guide you down this path. Be aware of the situations that are causing you fear and anxiety. Being aware of these things lets you not be deceived by yourself and keeps inner disturbances to a minimum. You need to take these memories and fear and let them go. All negative energy has to be released so it can be turned into something constructive and positive. This card could also mean that there is a hidden illusion in your life. There is a hidden truth that you have yet to discover.

When pulled in reverse this card can mean that there are some dark negative aspects in your life right now. That darkness could be confusion and unhappiness. Maybe you want to make progress but you aren’t quite sure how. The key to figuring this out is by letting go of your fears and anxieties. It is time to believe in yourself and move forward. This card in reverse also means you are in an intuitive period or you have recently just experienced a lot of confusion, anxiety, or self-deception. This card can also suggest that the things that were causing you confusion are slowly starting to go away and things are becoming clearer. You are started to get a hold of your fears and anxieties. All the negativity is slowly fading away.

Here is a great tarot spread that focuses on the moon card. It is great for bringing clarity to a confusing situation. First I would take out the moon card and meditate on it while thinking about a situation in your life that is causing you a lot of confusion. Next shuffle and pull your cards (only pull the first 3 cards in the beginning) using your preferred method.

moonspread

Card 1: This card is the Moon, the numinous dream image, representing magic, mystery and original beauty, the dark and the light, the beauty of the still night and the deep shadows. This card represents ideals and desires, intentions and clarity.

Card 2: This is the reflection in the water, the clouded sight, the mirror reflecting your biases and prejudices, the skewed perspective, the imperfect translation.

Card 3: This is that which the moonlight illumines, though dimly. These are the snatches of dreams you remember, the bits and pieces of clarity, what you can see from here.

Card 4: Take this card from the bottom of the deck and lay it next to card 3. This card represents that which is still in deep shadow, that which you can’t quite make out, hints and glimpses of things you don’t recognize. This is the darkness and confusion, or what is confusing you.

Both cards 3 and 4 are seen through the unclear glass, the biases shown in the reflection card. By comparing the three you can help determine and further define your perspective.

Tarot Series~Major Arcana Card 17: The star

Screenshot 2018-08-03 at 8.58.49 PM

When pulled upright this card is about hope, renewed power, and strength. It shows how blessed you are by the universe and everything around you is evidence. This blessedness may not be evident right yet as this card follows the trauma of the tower card before it. Remember that all you need to be happy can be found within you and even though things may not seem to have turned around for you yet you need to have faith because the universe will bless you and bring you all that you need. Seeing this card in a reading shows that you have gone through a terrible life challenge but you’ve managed to go through it without losing hope. While you were suffering you may not have been aware of your own strength but now you may be starting to realize that your loss has helped you discover just how resilient and how much inner power you have.

When pulled in reverse this card is about feeling as though everything is turned against you. Challenges that would normally excite you now feel like you can’t overcome them. You have lost faith in something, possibly yourself or something you normally find dear. This card in reverse tells us to nurture our sense of hope and positive energy to help us feel joy rather than fear.

Here is a tarot spread that focuses on the star card. This spread is great when you are surrounded by darkness and need a little taste of hope. First I would take the star card out of the deck and meditate on it while focusing on what it feels like to feel hopeful. Then shuffle and pull the cards as you see fit.

starspread

Card 1: This is something to hope for; a sign, a goal to work towards. Remember you can always find something positive, even in the most negative-seeming cards. Especially if this card is negative, you have to find that little glimmer.

Cards 2 and 3 represent positive things you can work on right now while keeping that Star in the corner of your sight.

Card 2: This represents pouring the water on the earth: this is what you can do to nourish yourself physically, or issues that have been preventing you from taking adequate nourishment.

Card 3: This represents returning water back to water: this is how you can enrich your unconscious, your soul. This is what you need to work on for spiritual nourishment.

Tarot Series~Major Arcana Card 13: Death

3d5d131d7b3259e116d62d3aa52248b6

When pulled upright this card is about being about to go through a major change, transition, or transformation. The old you needs to die to make room for the new you. This may seem scary because you are likely unsure of what will happen in your future. Despite being scared welcome the change because you are opening new doors. This card can also mean that you need to let go of unhealthy attachments that you have going on in your life. Moving forward is one of the lessons of the death card.

When pulled in reverse this card is about you resisting change. You may be holding onto the past or you may be unsure of what changes are happening for your future. But limiting the change and holding on to the past can limit your future. It is okay to be afraid but you still need to move forward. The death card doesn’t have to be about regret especially if you listen to its warning.

Here is a tarot spread that focuses on the death card. It is great for dealing with change and recognizing your initial reactions to it. First I would take the death card out of the deck and meditate on it while thinking about changes going on in your life. Then shuffle and deal the cards as you see fit.

deathspread

Card 1: This card is the change, the Death. This is the sun setting, the inevitable force that cannot be stopped or slowed.

Cards 2, 3 and 4: These cards represent things that have died, aspects of yourself that are gone or have been cut off. They can represent your innocence, ignorance, blind faith, control, something in its bloom. Name them.

Card 5: This card represents the person you were before, that which you no longer are.

Card 6: This card represents you just after the change, ways to mourn, sorrow to acknowledge before you can go on. Also acceptance or ways toward acceptance.

Tarot Series~Major Acrana Card 8: Strength

aa531c5f65208b68814197e79a8ed35d.jpg

When pulled upright this card is about inner strength and fortitude during danger and distress. Even when everything seems to be going wrong you seem to remain calm and strong. It also talks of compassion and how you always make times for others even when if it means pushing your own needs to the side. You are patient and can accomplish anything you set your mind to. You are resilient and fearless which will help you in the long run and will help you speak your mind when you need to. As a reward for your compassion you will be given stability either presently or in the near future.

When pulled in reverse this card is about experiencing an intense anger or fear in your life (if not presently then in the near future). You are lacking the characteristics this card is normally about and therefore may be experiencing fear, along with a lack of conviction and confidence in yourself. You may have forgotten your passions and what you love. This card may also say you are experiencing depression and that you may end up withdrawing yourself because of it. You need to gain confidence in order to get your inner-strength.

Here is a tarot spread that focuses on the strength card. First I would remove the strength card and meditate with it asking yourself what your strengths are. Then I would shuffle and pull the cards in the method you see fit.

strengthspread

Card 1: This card represents your greatest strength, which can be something of which you are quite conscious.

Cards 2 and 3: These cards are other strengths you have, that maybe you are not taking into account. All of the first three cards represent strong roots, things you can draw on, that will nourish and support you and form a good base.

Card 4: This represents a possible weakness, an area that perhaps needs some shoring up, that could be strengthened.

Card 5: This card represents an area where flexibility is needed, an issue or attitude or situation where you need to bend and let things flow, where a different kind of strength is needed.
