Ostara Ritual

Hi everyone! I hope you all are having a lovely Ostara. You may be looking for a ritual to do today and if you are here is one I found from thoughtco.com.

In addition to decorating your altar, you’ll need the following:

Perform this ritual outside if at all possible, in the early morning as the sun rises. It’s spring, so it may be a bit chilly, but it’s a good time to reconnect with the earth. If your tradition normally requires you to cast a circle, do so now.

  • Three candles: one yellow, one green, and one purple
  • A bowl of milk
  • A small bowl of honey or sugar

Perform Your Ritual

Begin by taking a moment to focus on the air around you. Inhale deeply, and see if you can smell the change in the seasons. Depending on where you live, the air may have an earthy aroma, or a rainy one, or even smell like green grass. Sense the shift in energy as the Wheel of the Year has turned. Light the green candle, to symbolize the blossoming earth. As you light it, say:

The Wheel of the Year turns once more,
and the vernal equinox arrives.
Light and dark are equal,
and the soil begins to change.
The earth awakes from its slumber,
and new life springs forth once more.

Next, light the yellow candle, representing the sun. As you do so, say:

The sun draws ever closer to us,
greeting the earth with its welcoming rays.
Light and dark are equal,
and the sky fills with light and warmth.
The sun warms the land beneath our feet,
and gives life to all in its path.

Finally, light the purple candle. This one represents the Divine in our lives–whether you call it a god or a goddess, whether you identify it by name or simply as a universal life force, this is the candle which stands for all the things we do not know, all those things we cannot understand, but that are the sacred in our daily lives. As you light this candle, focus on the Divine around and within you. Say:

Spring has come! For this, we are thankful!
The Divine is present all around,
in the cool fall of a rain storm,
in the tiny buds of a flower,
in the down of a newborn chick,
in the fertile fields waiting to be planted,
in the sky above us,
and in the earth below us.
We thank the universe* for all it has to offer us,
and are so blessed to be alive on this day.
Welcome, life! Welcome, light! Welcome, spring!

Take a moment and meditate on the three flames before you and what they symbolize. Consider your own place within these three things–the earth, the sun, and the Divine. How do you fit into the grand scheme of things? How do you find balance between light and dark in your own life?

Finally, blend the milk and honey together, mixing gently. Pour it onto the ground around your altar space as an offering to the earth**. As you do, you may wish to say something like:

I make this offering to the earth,
As thanks for the many blessings I have received,
And those I shall some day receive.

Once you have made your offering, stand for a minute facing your altar. Feel the cool earth beneath your feet, and the sun on your face. Take in every sensation of this moment, and know that you are in a perfect place of balance between light and dark, winter and summer, warmth and cold — a time of polarity and harmony.

When you are ready, end the ritual.

*Instead of “the Universe,” feel free to insert the name of your patron deity or the gods of your tradition here.

**If you’re doing this rite indoors, take your bowl of milk and honey and pour it in your garden, or around your yard.

I hope you all enjoy this ritual! Let me know what you will be doing for the sabbat today in the comments below along with any other thoughts or comments you may have. How to Best Utilize the Full Moon

Yesterday we had a super full moon and we will still be feeling the effects of it for a couple of days so I thought I would talk about the different things to keep in mind when there is a full moon and the different things you can do during it.

What to keep in mind

It is very important to remember that during a full moon emotions are heightened. This can be great because if you’re feeling happy or some other positive emotion that will be amplified. However if you are experiencing more negative emotions they can be amplified as well. It is best to keep heated debates on the back burner and any other conversation that may spark conflict. Something else to remember is during the full moon we are more prone to overreacting and making rash decisions. So when you’re freaking out about something or about to make a decision during the full moon really think about it. Is what you’re freaking out about really that important or are you making it bigger than it is? And should you really be making such an important decision on one night? Is waiting until tomorrow an option? If so you should probably take it.

Things to do on a full moon

  1. Do an esbat ritual for the goddess of your choice
  2. Do a full moon tarot reading for yourself, a friend, or get one done for you
  3. Charge your crystals and cleanse them with the energy of the full moon
  4. Take a ritual bath
  5. Do some magick
  6. Clear your home of any negative or stagnant energy
  7. Connect yourself with the element of water as it is effected by the phases of the moon
  8. Work with your menstrual cycle (whether that is through ovulation, your period, or pregnancy)
  9. Dance
  10. Do a drum circle
  11. Sit under the moon and absorb the energy it offers you
  12. Do some reiki or get some reiki done to you
  13. Talk to the moon like she is very old friend
  14. Meditate
  15. Start a gratitude journal
  16. Focus on self love and spoil yourself a little.

I hope you all enjoyed last nights beautiful full moon! Let me know what you did with it’s energies in the comments down below along with any other thoughts or questions you have. Car Protection Spell

Hello everyone! On the last full moon I decided that I wanted to create a spell bag for my car. I get really bad road anxiety and thought maybe this will help calm my nerves. So below is the spell I made. *disclaimer* I didn’t make up the words however. I found them on pinterest.

Ingredients:

  1. A little cloth or mesh bag
  2. Cinnamon for protection
  3. Ginger to make the spell more powerful
  4. Sage for protection
  5. Salt for protection
  6. Black tourmaline for protection
  7. Clear quartz to boost the spell
  8. Rose Quartz because it is my favourite and brings me peace (sub with your favourite or ignore)
  9. Reiki symbol for protection (if you aren’t trained in reiki feel free to skip this one or put in another sigil)

Image result for sigil for protection

7. Sigil sewn to outside of bag for protection

Steps:

  1. Create a sacred circle using your preferred method (I use sage and my athame)
  2. Call upon your desired gods and goddesses to help you (I called on Hercules and Gaia), air (for safe travels), and fire (to power the spell)
  3. Sew on the sigil
  4. As you fill the bag with your ingredients chant:

On this night, I invoke the powers of fire and air (add names of gods and goddesses if you like) to protect me from all that would harm me, whether physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually.

5. Now you are done creating the bag. Bring the bag to your car and tie it to your rearview window with three knots. (You could also just tie the knots and then put the bag in the glove compartment) As you tie the knots say:

With each knot, I bind this spell

Safety, protection, all is well

Sheltered and shielded, this vehicle shall be

Three times three, SO MOTE IT BE!

I hope you get some use out of my spell. Let me know what you think of it in the comments along with any other thoughts or questions. Letting go Ritual

First of all I just want to announce a giveaway opportunity! Be my 50th subscriber and get a free tarot reading. After the 50th subscriber I will do another giveaway for all my subscribers. Stay tuned for more info!

This weekend, as those of you know who follow me on twitter, I was going through a pretty nasty breakup. I am grateful to say that after reflecting on us, my partner has realized his rashness and we are going to work on the issues instead of just breaking up. Woohoo! But this weekend has really shown me how nasty and truly devastating a breakup really is. So I thought I would give you guys a little help on how to let go of something.

If you’ve watched friends, you’ve probably seen this ritual. This ritual is all about burning things to let them go. So whether you are going through a breakup; a death; trying to give up a habit; anything, get some photos; letters; or write down some feelings that have to do with what you’re letting go and burn it. Don’t be too specific. Let the universe really figure out what you need, just give the universe some guidelines. Also make sure you collect the things to burn when you in a good mindset and not super emotional. You don’t want to burn something that is actually important.

The new moon is the perfect time to set intentions. Because of this, the new moon is a great time to write a list of things you want to let go. Your list shouldn’t be you asking for things but rather should be affirmative statements. Date the list when you’re done and write “I accept these things into my life now or something better for the highest good and the good of all concerned.” This will ensure that what you are sending out won’t affect others negatively.

The burning should take 2 weeks later during the full moon, preferably outside. If you can’t do it outside, I would recommend doing it by an open window. While you are waiting for the full moon do some meditation and stop doing things that are making it hard to move one (if it is a breakup stop looking at your ex’s social media, stop going through pictures of your together, etc).

During the burning, start your fire if you’re outside and put everything in the fire one at a time and explain the significance of each piece as it burns. If you’re inside I would recommend putting everything into a cauldron, or whatever you have, one at a time while explaining the significance of each piece, and then light it all together. Regardless of your method while you are doing the burning chant “I release you, I am done.” You may start experiencing some emotions and that’s okay. Feel them but then move on.

I hope whatever you are going through gets better! Thank you for reading. What are you letting go of? Let me know in the comments along with any other thoughts or questions. Also, make sure to follow me on here and on twitter so you get notifications on when I post! Merry Meet and Blessed Be!
