Peacock Ore

Peacock ore is all about happiness and joy. It is meant to bring you more positivity and to bring happiness to those around you. One of the best things about this crystal is that is gives you the ability to see and appreciate all the joy that it around you. It also helps you see that all is how it should be. It helps you see that everything is up to how you perceive it. If you are using the right perspective (which this stone encourages) then you’ll see there is nothing wrong in your life. Along with it bringing happiness it also helps ground your nervous energy.

This stone is really great when you combine it with chakra healing. This is because even when you use it on one chakra it positively affects them all. It is actually so good at healing chakras that it is nicknamed the chakra stone. It is most connected with the third eye. If you hold this crystal to your third eye while meditating it can help open up your intuition and awaken your inner sight.

If you are going to be doing any magick with peacock ore you’re going to want to do magick that has to do with bringing happiness and positive emotions in general. It’s great for self love magick and magick to remove stress. This is also a great crystal to have handy if you’re going to be doing any divination.

That is all for today! Do you use peacock ore in your practice? Let me know down below along with any other thoughts or questions you have. Make sure you follow me here and on twitter so you get notifications when I post and upload videos to youtube. Until next time, Blessed Be!

Tarot Series~Minor Arcana: Six of Swords

db1a6adf39a435a8e6c690205c6399d3

When pulled upright this card is about having to make a regrettable transition in your life. This transition is likely happening due to a decision you made in the past which is now forcing you to leave something behind as you move forward. Despite the fact that this is bringing a great deal of sadness you need to remember that given the circumstances this is the best possible outcome. This card reminds you that life is full of times where you have to let go of things you’ve become accustomed to. This isn’t going to be easy but remember that this sadness is only temporary. Look forward to your future and gain strength from its possibilities. Sometimes you can’t fix what’s broken. The only thing you can do it leave the issue and start new. You may find yourself thinking that this seems cowardly but sometimes it’s the only thing that can be done when you’ve tried to make it work using every other method. Now you need to start planning your path to a happier future. Due to it being a swords card it is telling you to make these plans with logic, clarity, and objectively to know where you’ve been, where you are now, and where you want to go.

When pulled in reverse this card is about how you’ve been actively trying to make this transition and move on however you may find that making this transition is quite challenging. You may find yourself reliving your past due to unresolved issues, or maybe because you are second guessing your decisions. Another meaning of this card could be that you are actually resisting these transitions. You may feel forced into doing things that you aren’t ready for or that you don’t want to do at all. Take a second to think about the possible benefits of these transitions and not just their negatives.

Here is a tarot spread to help you embrace the transitions that are happening in your life. First I would take the six of swords of the deck and meditate on it while thinking about the transitions that are starting to take form in your life. Then shuffle and pull using your preferred method.

Mental Illness Ritual Bath

Hi everyone. Today I wanted to talk about something that affects me. I want to talk about mental illness. However I want to make some disclaimers before I start. Firstly I want to talk about what I am referring to when I say I am affected by mental illness. When it comes to physical sickness there are certain things you go to the hospital for and some things your don’t. A regular cold or a little flu are not hospital worthy. Despite that though you are still sick. When I think of how mental illness affects me I think of it as I have the cold (and occasionally flu) equivalent of mental illness. Do I need meds and a therapist for it? No. Do I still feel unwell? Yes. So I just wanted to put that out there before anyone questions me on just how severe my mental illness is or whatever. My second disclaimer is this: Nothing I say in this post is going to cure your mental illness. May it help you cope? sure. Could it potentially alleviate some symptoms or at least make them slightly more bearable? Maybe, but no promises. Everyone’s journey is different. And I just hope that maybe you can get something out of this.

When it comes to me I always (especially in the mornings) have a higher than average anxiety level, for no good reason at all. And every once in a while I’ll experience symptoms of depression. Usually I’ll be very irritable and very low energy. Last week and the week before I was experiencing this. And by the end of last week I decided enough was enough and that I was going to try and do something to get out of this funk. So I made a ritual self love/happiness bath. I would like to share it with you. I feel that this is a mix of both a spell and a ritual so I will leave this in both of those sections in our BoS.

preview

Ingredients:

  • Epsom salt
  • Lavender
  • Rose quartz
  • Green Kyanite
  • Green Obsidian
  • Amythest
  • Some seashells
  • Yellow Candle
  • Incense (I used one that’s for the heart chakra)

Steps to making the ritual bath:

  1. Sage your crystals and yourself
  2. In some sort of container (I used my big cauldron) mix together the lavender, the epsom salt, the crystals, and the shells while thinking about the intention of your bath
  3. With the bathroom lights off start running your bath and add the ingredients to the water
  4. Have your candle and incense on the bathtub ledge or nearby.
  5. Once in the tub light the candle and the incense
  6. Call upon whoever you wish and ask them to help you find the joy you’ve been lacking and to give you the strength to get through the rough time you’re experiencing. I called upon Gaia and Aphrodite.
  7. Enjoy your bath, you could meditate, do a face mask, watch your favourite show, read a book, whatever brings you joy.
  8. Thank whoever you called upon when you are done.

If you desire to have a sacred circle feel free, you can also make the water sacred by adding rosemary. I don’t always feel the need to do sacred circles especially when I am doing impromptu rituals/spells (like I was in this situation). Please feel free to share your journey with us, or any spells/rituals that you do to aid in your mental health down below, along with any other thoughts or questions you may have. Make sure you follow me here and on twitter so you get notifications when I post and when I upload videos to youtube. Until next time, Blessed Be!

Tarot Series~Minor Arcana: Ten of Cups

1d1b0e7e1b2b05b9655d78979492865b

When pulled upright this card is a continuation of the good feelings from the nine of cups. This card is all about joy, happiness, contentment, and emotional satisfaction in the people you surround yourself with. This state you’re in is so ideal that you feel that you are in paradise. All of your wishes, needs, and wants have been fulfilled. Take this time to breath and be thankful for all that you have. This card shows us true emotional fulfillment. When you learned to love yourself the nine of cups became the ten of cups. This card is often thought to be connected to the phrase “happily ever after”. This card also talks about having a harmonious family. You are living in absolute peace. If this is a love reading this card shows that this is the real deal and could very well be something long-term. This card could also be suggesting you should take a family vacation so you can really just spend quality times with your loved ones.

When pulled in reverse this card is about how the connections and harmony within your family are being broken. This idealized image of the perfect family you had is either broken or wasn’t realistic from the get go. Rather than connecting and coming together you may find that you are becoming more distant and pulling apart. The happy moments that you were hoping for don’t seem to have met your expectations. Treat each other well and love each other too. This is the best way to achieve the harmonious living that you desire.

It would seem that the 10 of cups upright is the kind of life most of us aim to live. I thought, for those of us not quite there, a good step to getting there would be to learn to love ourselves a little more. Here is a tarot spread to help with your self love. First I would take out the 10 of cups and meditate on it while thinking about all the reasons you are worthy of your own love. Then shuffle and pull the cards using your preferred method.

Tarot Series~Minor Arcana: Nine of Cups

14e06457b1b8503ff579250b0a18f3b1

When pulled upright this card is about self-satisfaction. It is about going through the rough patches the rest of the suit had to offer, such as, struggling to find your purpose, to find joy again, you have explored new opportunities, and left your comfort zone. Now you are celebrating this new stage in your life. This card is a super positive one to get in a reading. It is often referred to a the wish card as when you get this card it tells you that you are going to get what you desire. When you are doing a reading about work this card talks about a good chance that something really great is going to happen in your place of work. Whatever it is that you’ve really wanted to achieve at work it is now the time to really push for it. When talking about love this card is saying a romantic relationship you have will go to the next level. So maybe you have been casually dating someone for awhile. This card could be saying you are both going to be ready to commit soon. Or maybe you have been in a relationship with someone for a while now, maybe you will finally get engaged. If you are single this card is telling you that now is the time to start socializing as you may find someone perfect for you. For readings about finances it says that whatever your financial goals are, they seem to be coming to life now.

When pulled in reverse this card is about how you need to really think about what you seriously want in life. You desire something more authentic. You’ve been travelling a pretty hard path and you feel like you’ve reached a point of fulfillment but you can’t shake the feeling that something is missing. To others you may come across as just smug and make it seem like you just want attention for what you have achieved. However you honestly still feel dissatisfied with yourself. You never seem to have an end to your desires. You always want more to the point that seems much like a black hole. You need to reflect on this and try and figure out where this issue stems from so you can do something about it. This card talks about how you need to stop placing all your value on all your blessings and rather start valuing the quality of your life.

So this card talks about how now is the time you will achieve your dreams so I thought this tarot spread would be helpful. First I would take the nine of cups out of the deck and meditate on it while thinking about your dreams for life. Then shuffle and pull the cards using your preferred method.

Tarot Series~Minor Arcana: Eight of Cups

Image result for eight of cups crystal visions

When pulled upright this card is about a time of change. In order for this change to occur there is something you need to walk away from. We all need to transform ourselves throughout our lives now and again. This is especially true when you’re tired of living your everyday life. Now is the time to go on a journey that will bring you to a better understanding on life in general. This card shows that you aren’t happy with the way your life is right now and you need to get in touch with your higher purpose. You may have been trying a bunch of things without committing yourself to try and see what it is you want from life but it is becoming exhausting. It seems like you need to step out of your comfort zone and get away from what is familiar. This card typically shows that one is tired of the material world and is getting reading to undergo a spiritual journey.

When pulled in reverse this card is about being really confused because you are not sure what direction you should be going in life. This confusion is usually caused because you are not sure what path is best for you. This can often lead to people moving aimlessly through life with no real goals. They just go with wherever their life takes them. It is also possible that you are aware of all this and that you need to pick your path a go with it. You likely haven’t been happy for a little while now but in order to achieve the happiness you want you need to go down a new path. Leaving everything you know behind to pursue something new can be really scary as you are not only experiencing change but you are also leaving the comfort you’ve grown accustom to. This is all however necessary to get where you need to go. This causes a lot of people to be stuck in this limbo of making an important decision. I think a good, common, example of this is when you’re unhappy in a relationship. Do you continue being with this person despite being unhappy because it is comfortable? Or do you break up to find happiness elsewhere but experience the extreme discomfort of starting over? It is important to have courage and to believe you deserve the happiness you crave.

Here is a tarot spread to help you on your path to transformation. First I would take the eight of cups out of the deck and mediate on it while thinking about what isn’t making you happy anymore. Then put the card back in the deck and shuffle and pull using your preferred method.

Tarot Series~Minor Arcana: Three of Cups

5fd46ea11ca22516add9ccba6c800ffd

When pulled upright this card is about happiness. The worries in your day to day life will go away from your mind and you will be able to spend some time with your friends and family. This card could be about a happy reunion with a friend from the past, relative you haven’t spoken to in years, or a loved one. This card may also be indicative of a celebration. It could be one for yourself or someone else. This celebration could be a wedding, birthday, graduation, etc. The three maidens depicted in the card symbolize your friends who you go to for love, compassion, and support. If you’ve been struggling socially this card may represent the end of those struggles.

When pulled in reverse this card is about not having the time to socialize with friends. You may be too caught up in school or work. This card can also be about you losing touch with old friends and as time goes by you may find you are growing apart from one another. As we get older we need to make sure we are still putting in an effort to maintain our friendships. This card could also mean that balance is lacking within your circle of friends. You may find that there is a lot of gossip and drama. Envy is probably a hidden problem your circle of friends are having and this may leave you feeling isolated.

Here is a nice little spread to help you figure out if the friendships in your life are good ones or negative ones. Before you start I would take out the three of cups and meditate on it while thinking about a certain friend you want to know about (or your circle of friends as a whole). After this, shuffle and pull your cards using your preferred method.

Wheel of the Year: Yule

Hi everyone! Today we are going to talk about Yule since it is coming on Friday! So Yule is on the winter solstice which is December 21st. Some people celebrate it over a few days (Dec.21-Dec.23). It is the most North point on the wheel of the year. It is the darkest day of the year and represents the brightening of the days to come. Today we are celebrating the goddess giving birth to the sun god again.

On this day there are lots of ways to celebrate. A lot of these celebrations are very similar to those of Christmas. If you want to know why I suggest you check out my blog post about the history of yule. So some things you can do is burn the yule log to increase the light of the season; put up mistletoe; have holly and evergreen decorations to symbolize the promise of the return of life and springtime; and put up a yule tree with silver and white decorations to represent the goddess and god, or red and gold to symbolize the sun god specifically. You can also do gift giving and other traditional holiday fun.

Don’t forget, along with all these seasonal activities you can still go for a nature walk to see what is happening in the world, do a ritual for the deities around yule and winter, do some divination, or do some magick.

Some gods you can celebrate on Yule are: Baldur (Norse), Dionysus (Greek), Hodr (Norse), Holly king (Celtic), Horus (Egyptian), Mithras (Roman), Odin (Norse), Saturn (Roman), and Apollo (Greek).

Some goddesses you can celebrate on Yule are: Alcyone (Greek), Ameratasu (Japanese), Bona Dea (Roman), Cailleach Bheur (Celtic), Demeter (Greek), Frau Holle (Norse), Frigga (Norse), La Betana (Italian), and Spider Woman (Hopi).

I hope you all have a very blessed Yule! What are your plans for the sabbat? Let me know in the comments along with any other thoughts or questions you have. Working for a Christian Family

Hello everyone! I thought today it would be interesting to give my take on what it is like working for a Christian family. Now I am lucky in saying that the family I have been working for are pretty open-minded, in the sense that they don’t care what I believe, even if they think what I believe is a load of crap. However, it has still presented me with some interesting situations.

I have been working for this family for about 4 months. I am a nanny for their elementary aged daughter. The first month and a half I spent with them we were actually travelling all over northern USA. It was actually a lot of fun. Even at the first week my lack of Christian faith brought up some challenges. At this time their daughter was very religious and was shocked that I did not share her belief in God. She kept asking me about church. I would always say that I think it is great that she enjoys going but that it wasn’t my cup of tea. One time when it was just me and her, God came up again. I proceeded to say that I wasn’t Christian but that I thought it was super cool she was and that everyone should be able to believe in what they want. She essentially told me I had to believe in God because if not I would go to hell. I know she wasn’t trying to be rude or anything. She simply didn’t want me to go to hell, but this conversation happened a number of times. It was very uncomfortable.

Later on the trip it was naturally brought up that I am Wiccan. The family was actually rather interested to hear what that meant. I explained it to them (however I did leave out the magick aspect of the religion). They thought that a lot of our beliefs were actually quite similar despite the different religions and then it wasn’t really brought up again.

After we got home I started watching this child about 2 times during the work week and then most weekends (plus or minus some days depending on the week). So I had a few holidays (Mabon and Samhain) that happened while watching her. Due to this I would celebrate the holidays with her. Mind you, I didn’t do any rituals or anything with her. I only went on sabbat walks or had big meals, stuff like that. I was trying to really make sure I didn’t overstep and make her family feel like I was trying to convert her. At one point I was bringing my tarot cards over to her house so when she was in bed I could do a reading for this blog. She asked me what they were and I answered her. She told her parents and was told she wasn’t allowed to use them. So ever since then I have been hesitant to bring them over, hence why the Sunday readings haven’t been happening.

As for the latest development in this story, this is where the majority of the issues have arisen. This child is very curious and she has lots of questions. She asks me a lot of questions about various things that I believe in. Some examples are: who we worship, what I think of angels, spirit guides, magick, fairies (and other creatures from other realms). This weekend she told me that she didn’t like Christianity and that she was really interested in exploring Wicca. Now if my child told me they wanted to explore other religions I would be totally fine with it. I think all people, regardless of age, should be able to decide for themselves what they believe. However, I know this family has quite a different mindset and would be very mad if they found out otherwise. Luckily, last weekend was my last time working for that family and I can only hope that for her sake (and mine as I am friends with this family) that she forgets about Wicca, at least for now, and continues her Christian faith until she is a bit older.

That’s it for this week. Thank you for reading! Has your religion every effected you professionally? Tell me about it in the comments along with any other thoughts or questions you have. Also, let me know if you’d like to see Sunday tarot readings come back, now that I am done working Sunday’s in a Christian environment. Make sure you follow me here and on twitter so you get notifications when I post and upload videos to youtube. Until next time, Merry Meet and Blessed Be!

Tarot Series~Minor Arcana: Four of Wands

bd00ecaaef0404ece2bf07acee775c8c

When pulled upright this card is about celebration. It is also about a happy home environment. The number 4 is a sign of stability. This card also says that is is now a good time to get closer with your family and friends. This card could be about a time in the holiday’s when you’re surrounded by your loved ones. On the other hand if you’ve been working on a goal or a project a big milestone is coming up. You are going to want to celebrate this and you are more than justified to do so.

When pulled in reverse this card is about there being a lack of stability or happiness in your home environment. There is probably a lot of tension between you and your loved ones. Maybe you have accomplished something and expect your loved ones to want to celebrate with you. Instead you come home to a complete lack of support. This is likely causing you to feel uncertain about your relationships and is making you wonder who you can really count on.

Below is a spread to help you celebrate your accomplishments. First I would take out the four of wands and meditate with it. While you meditate think of your accomplishments and all the reasons you have to celebrate. Then shuffle the cards and pull them as you see fit.
