Weekly Tarot Spread: Exploring Past Lives

In the last year or so I’ve been really interested in my past lives when I learned a little about them when I was getting some soul healing done with my Shaman. Ever since I have wanted to do hypnosis to find out about my past lives but alas that opportunity hasn’t made itself available yet. So in the meantime I thought this might be a fun spread to try out.

The spread I did

I think this reading is quite interesting. I previously knew about one past life where I died giving birth. And as you will find out this seems to be another past life where I don’t make it to be of the age to be a mother. Maybe this lack of experience in my past lives fuel my extreme desire to be a mother in this life.

Cards I pulled

Card to describe me in my past life: Queen of Swords reversed.

This card normally talks about having the mentality of leadership. Having developed skills and wisdom through years of experience. There is mention of maturity, being a capable woman, an authority figure who is nurturing and understanding. She represents a mother figure. This card is in reverse though and therefore seems to talk of a Maiden who is dependent on others and lacks life experience. She isn’t mentally matured yet.

My purpose during that lifetime: Eight of Pentacles reversed

This card is about having worldly power and influence, being a leader and having authority. It talks of organizational and managerial skills, honour, respect, equality, awards, pubic recognition, power, and abundance in all areas of life. Because I pulled this card in reverse I think it means I was suppose to become a leader of worldly influence but it never ended up happening.

A lesson I did not complete in that lifetime: The Fool

So firstly as we know this is a Major Arcana card and therefore is important for me to know. This card says I never learned to trust blindly and to take big risks. In order for my purpose to have been fulfilled I needed to make the jump but I never did.

How is that life relevant to my current life: Page of Swords

This card says it is relevant because I need to prepare myself in this life to succeed in what I didn’t in my previous life. I have to be willing to do whatever it takes: start at the bottom of the ladder and take risks to make it to the top.

I hope you found this reading interesting! If you see anything you think I missed or have any thoughts/questions feel free to leave it in the comments. Also, make sure to subscribe so you get notifications when I post. Until next time, Merry Meet and Blessed Be!

Weekly Tarot Spread: Interviewing your deck

Okay so as I said in the other post I made today, sorry for the late posting. It was the long weekend and so I was camping with my boyfriend, Tristen. But I am making sure we are all caught up. Today I thought it would be fun to do a reading to learn about my deck. I don’t know why I never did this sooner but at least I am now.

The spread I did

This reading made past readings make a lot more sense for me, which I will share one specifically at the end. I think it is really great to know your deck as it makes the reading process a lot easier. Also some people have multiple decks so if you learn something about your deck and realize it is great for certain types of readings and not for others you can go on a quest to find another deck to fill in the missing pieces.

Cards I pulled

Who are you?: Three of Wands

This card is a wands card so it is about spiritual considerations and due to it being the number three this card represents the trinity: the mind, body, and spirit. My deck is open, optimistic, and clear. It helps me to see the big picture and is part of my growth.

Why did you find me?: Ten of Pentacles

Pentacles is about finances and physical conditions. Due to the card being a ten it talks about back when I was trying to figure out if I should stay in university doing science or if I should drop out and go to college to do Early Childhood education. I needed help to decide. I was hung up on the money and what others would think. Getting this deck was my transition from science to my new beginning in ECE.

How do you speak?: Six of pentacles reversed

Normally this card is about being caring, compassionate, peace and quiet but this card is reversed. My deck tells it like it is with no sugar coating it. And boy do I know it. My deck gives some blunt readings.

How should I listen?: The Fool

Firstly this is a Major Arcana card which means it is very important. Due to my relationship with my deck I know it is important because I often do the exact opposite of what this card tells me to do. This card says they my deck is so blunt and straightforward a food would understand. I don’t need to study and know everything to understand. My intuition is more than enough.

Where are we going?: Five of Pentacles

This card says in times of stress, instability, challenges, and change out relationship will keep me on track. The deck will remind me to take things slow and to think things through thoroughly.

How do we work?: Seven of Pentacles

This cards says our relationship is about finding myself and to further my spiritual journey.

Can you connect with the Divine?: Two of Swords

Swords is about mental and communication issues. And the two means there is a partnership with a spiritual entity. But if you look at the tarot card you can see that she is blind to the partnership. Therefore, this deck cannot connect me to the Divine.

Something that was really cleared up by this reading was why one of my readings the other week was so off. So the other week I did a reading on my own personal time to see what deities are working in my life. In my deck there is an unknown card that I usually take out of the deck but that time I forgot. As I was shuffling my deck to find out how many deities I will work with in my lifetime the card I pulled was the unknown card. I thought it was just my deck reminding me to take the card out so I did and redid the spread and the whole thing felt wrong but I couldn’t figure out why. Turns out my deck was actually trying to tell me that it can’t connect with the divine and doesn’t know the answer. Crazy huh?

Anyway, thanks for reading. If you think I missed anything, if you have any questions, or thoughts please leave it in the comments. Also, make sure you subscribe so you get notifications when I post. Until next time, Merry Meet and Blessed Be.

Weekly Tarot Reading: Stay or Go Relationship Spread

Hi everyone! Sorry for the late post. I was doing my Beltane celebrations on Sunday and miscalculated time. I did this reading yesterday and am just typing everything up now. Since last week seemed to focus on my relationship with my partner I thought it would be fun to do a relationship spread. To be clear though, I was never thinking about leaving but thought the spread looked fun and might give some perspective to our relationship as a whole.

Spread I did

Doing this spread was great for me. It reminded me how grateful I am to have this man in my life and how much we love each other. At the same time though it reminded me on things we can work on to make our relationship the very best it can be.

The cards I pulled

Current State: King of Cups Reversed

Firstly, the suit of cups talks about emotions and relationships. Although I obviously believe in the tarot I always get a little excited when the cards pull so literally, it really confirms to me that what I’m doing is legit. So when I pulled a card about relationships first for a relationship spread I got a smile out of that. Next, lets talk about king card. Normally a king card talks about a completion point and how it’s time to more on to the next new beginning. But this card is reversed which to me suggests that our relationship is not at a completion point and that our relationship is going to continue.

Why Stay: The Sun

So something important to notice right off the bat is that this card is a Major Arcana which means the message this card has to give is more important than the others and so we should pay extra close attention. The sun card talks about success, abundance, radiance, strength, and vitality. This card brings joy and happiness. It also talks about having so much joy that others around you experience your joy. It also talks about radiating love and affection. So to sum up I should stay because they amount of joy and happiness this relationship brings to me is unreal.

Why go: Nine of wands reversed

So wands in general is about creativity, spiritual consideration, and will power. Given what I have interpreted from this card it is about spiritual consideration. The number nine is about tolerance for the many differences among different peoples. It is also about being comfortable dedicating your life to others welfare/worthy cause. This card is reversed and what I have gathered from it is saying that we are not in the same place spiritually. That while my partner has tolerance for my faith he does not understand it. It is also talks about his lack of readiness to commit yet or at least that I feel he isn’t.

How I’ll feel Staying: Three of Wands Reversed

Once again the wands card is about creativity, spiritual consideration, and willpower. The number three however is about seeing the big picture, a relationship taking form, action, growth, development, and a tendency to leap before looking. It also says that all these expansions can happen too fast. This card is reversed and how I feel it is to be interpreted is that my relationship will take form but it will take it’s time and not form too fast. We’ll grow and develop in our own calculated time.

How I’ll feel Leaving: The Fool Reversed

So once again we have another Major Arcana card which means the message here is important and shouldn’t be taken seriously. This card reversed often means actually feeling like a fool. No planning of the future, recklessness, and lack of thought. To me it sounds like if I were to leave I’d feel like a fool. That my whole life plans would be gone and flushed away. That if I were to leave it would be reckless and not thought through.

Overall Advice: Ten of Swords

Swords talks about mental and communication issues. The number ten is about endings and beginnings. You’ve got whatever you are going to get out of the situation. If you’ve become complacent that you need to challenge yourself and reach for a higher level. For me I think it means to not bring up old arguments in a new one. That I’ve gotten whatever I’m going to get from the old fight already. End the fight and start a new beginning. It also says we’ve gotten comfortable so we need to challenge each other, our relationship, and ourselves to make the most of us.

So that’s it for this weeks reading. Let me know if you think I missed something, have any thoughts, or question in the comments. Please subscribe so you can get notifications when I post! Merry Meet and Blessed Be!

Weekly Tarot Reading: Beltane reading

Hi everyone! Today I did a reading for Beltane since it is coming up tomorrow and the day after. I thought it might be fun to give you something to use in any rituals and divination you may be doing for the Sabbat.

Position 1: Safety. Emotional security. What you need to feel safe. Where are you secure in yourself? A seemingly negative card describes a situation that needs your focused attention. Work with the energy of that card to produce feelings of safety.
Position 2: Abundance. Feelings of plenty. Abundance may encompass monetary prosperity, but it also describes the emotional breadth of your life that is full and sweet. A challenging card directs you to constricted energy flow; by releasing the block of a challenging card, emotional abundance will follow.
Position 3: Regeneration. Exploring the possibilities. The bold action needed to grow and flourish. A challenging card will show you the block that keeps you from your heart’s desire.
Position 4: Love. Emotions and relationships. All forms of love, from friendship to sexual passion. Only you know your heart. Look at the suit of the card: what does it tell you about your life right now? (Wands = passion or anger; Cups = love or friendship; Swords = loving the intellect, heartache, or painful decisions; Pentacles = sensuality, the body, or the value you place on love; Court Cards = personal characteristics in your relationships; Major Arcana cards = the big picture, karma, or the spiritual aspects of your relationships.)
Position 5: The Future. The present conceivable outcome based on the flow of cards one through four. What story do the cards tell? The lessons to be learned and the potential for growth. How does position three, regeneration, relate to the future?

So after doing this reading I have found that this Beltane I need to focus still on my transition from school to work and self reflecting about my romantic relationship. I’ll break it down and show you how I came to this conclusion.

The cards I drew.

Emotional Security: King of Swords Reversed

Firstly, swords connects back to intellect. Also the king card refers to a completion point, a cycle being complete, and to either consolidate your current position or to begin a new cycle. Due to the fact that this card is reversed I seems to be suggesting I need to focus on starting my new journey. I’m caught up in the idea of school even though its done. In order to feel secure I need to embrace the new change which is work.

What am I abundant in: The Fool Reversed

This card when in reverse means that one is living in the moment and not planning for their future. Anything that may sound too good to be true may indeed be too good to be true. I think it relates to me because I have been depending on the idea of getting hired out of practicum, and not thinking about the possibility that I don’t. I think this is suggesting that to make a back of plan or I will lack abundance.

Exploring Possibilities: Ten of Swords

As we said before swords talks about intellect. The number 10 though talks about the ending and the beginning. It is a point of transition. Also to put your best effort in and to not be okay with just being average. I think this cards for me means that it is time to explore possibilities and move on to the next stage (work and not school). But that if I am going to commit to this change that I can’t settle for mediocrity. I need to try my best and be great at what I do.

Love and Relationships: Judgement

This card says that this a the time to reflect and evaluate ourselves and our actions. It is a period of awakening and that you are coming close to a significant point in your life where you must start to evaluate yourself. I think for me this means I’m going to have a big decision to make in my love life soon and I need to evaluate how I feel in the relationship.

The Future: The Hermit

This cards talks about seeking knowledge from within. It also is about contemplating the need to be alone. You are making an effort to take actions that are authentic and true to you. You’re searching your inner soul for guidance on what is right and what your next steps should be. For me I think it means that in the near future it is going to be important to do some inner reflection. The spread says to relate this card back to the 3rd card about regeneration but my intuition is telling me to relate this card to the 4th card instead. I think a decision is coming in my love life where I’m going to need to think about whats best for me.

So that’s this weeks reading. I hope you get good use out of this spread this Beltane. Feel free to let me know if you think I missed anything or to leave any thoughts or questions in the comments. Thanks for reading and make sure to subscribe so you can get notifications whenever I post. Merry Meet and Blessed Be.

Tarot Series~Major Arcana Card 0: The Fool

So I thought it might be fun to start a series to give this blog a little more structure. So once a week I am going to write about a card. As well, once a week I am going to do a reading and post about it so we can experience new spreads. I will also be posting once a week about something other than tarot cards. So that’s 3 posts a week! I’m really looking forward to writing more.

So before I get into today’s card I figured I should give a little run down on what tarot cards are. As with most things in Wicca everyone views things a little differently so for simplicity I will explain what tarot is to me. Tarot is a way to get answers about your past, present, and future if you continue the path you’re on now. So having said that I think you are able to change the reading you get. So for example you do a reading that says you are going to experience a heartbreak. I think that means if you continue the path you’re on now you will experience this heartbreak. But, now that you know what is going to happen you can take measures to prevent this and start a new path. As to who or what is responsible for the cards being pulled, I believe that doing a tarot reading is you and the universal energy source working as one. So yes the universal energy source is helping you but you still have to know what you’re doing yourself to do a good reading.  And just as a little disclaimer I use Crystal Visions tarot cards but all these descriptions for the cards I give are relevant to all styles of cards.

The first Major Arcana card is the fool. Major Arcana cards in general (not just this particular one) when pulled are considered more significant than any of the minor cards. They are considered the core foundation of the entire deck.

When the fool is pulled upright it stands for innocence, new beginnings, and a free spirit. So the fool card is considered the 0 card. 0 stands for infinite potential. Because she is a blank slate and represents innocence and new beginnings the new journey she’s about to start will influence who she becomes. This journey will be a positive one and will free you from the typical constraints you’re under. She lives life simply with no worries despite not knowing what is ahead. She also can be telling you to take a risk. She expresses courage as she understands you have to take risks sometimes to reap rewards. You never really know what’s up ahead so embrace it with joy.

When the fool is pulled in reverse is stands for recklessness, being taken advantage of, and inconsideration. When reversed the fool card quite literally implies that you’re acting like a fool by disregarding the consequences of your actions. You tend to not see the danger you’re in. This card can also mean you’re not planning your future and only living in the moment. You need to be more cautious and make sure you’re not being taken advantage of. If it sounds to good, it may not be true.

If you’d like to do a tarot spread about recognizing your fears in a new situation so that you may learn and grow I’ve got one for you. Firstly you should take the fool card out of your deck and hold it as you meditate on your new situation and how to approach it like the fool when pulled upright. Next shuffle your cards however you like to and pull them using your preferred method.

Card 1: This card represents you, your attitude, innocence, naivete, your inexperience in this situation.

Card 2: This card represents that upon which you have always relied, the solidity of the past that you may have to leave now. This card is certainty and routine and the familiar.

Card 3: This card represents the risk you have to take, the first step into the unknown, whether large or small.

Card 4: This card represents your fears, which can be real or imaginary, grounded in the reason of the situation or founded in panic.

Card 5: This card represents the unknown, what you have to gain, the learning you will come by, the experience and maturity that can be had, the life you can be living.
