My Salem Massachusetts 2 Day Trip Itinerary

So in the last week of June my partner and I will be going on a 10 day vacation and one of our stops is going to be 2 days in Salem. So I thought it would be fun if today I kind of post our itinerary and then the Wednesday after our trip I make a big post about what exactly we did, what we thought of each thing and then some pictures!

Also key to note that any prices I provide are in USD.

Day 1:

So day one will be spent absorbing all the knowledge I can get.

  • First stop will be the Salem witch museum.
    • For your knowledge the pricing is $13 for an adult, $11.50 for seniors, and $10 for kids 6-14. Presumably kids 5 and under are free.
  • Salem witch trials memorial is the second stop
    • I read online that one should do the museum first (as we plan to) to have more context. As long as you aren’t doing a tour this is free to my knowledge.
  • Charter st cemetery is third on the list
    • This cemetery is right beside the Salem witch trials memorial so it is a good spot to head to right after there
    • I would assume it is free as long as it isn’t a guided tour
  • The Howard st cemetery
    • This is said to be the cemetery that Giles Corey was pressed to death
    • And as the rest of the places of rest should be free

Day 2:

Most of this day will be just appreciating the city for what it is a city. We’ll go and check out local stores and just see other none witchy sites. However if the day end up drawing out a bit I have a couple places we could go to check out.

  • The Witch House
  • Witch History Museum
    • I found the price at one point but can’t seem to find it again
    • I read that this museum focuses more on witchcraft rather than the trials.

One thing that we will be doing later on in the evening is going on a walking tour. The tour we are going to go on is by hocus pocus tours. I’ll leave a link here if you want to know more about it. However if you just want to know the price it is Adults: $17, Seniors (65 & up): $15, Military Service Members: $15, Students: $15, Children (Ages 5-12): $10. Prices change a bit in October.

So that is all for today’s post. Make sure you stay tuned so you can hear about how the trip went and what I think of the various locations. Have you been to Salem? Let me know if you think there’s place I should visit that I haven’t mentioned, along with any other thoughts or questions you may have. Tarot Series~Minor Arcana: Ace of Swords

49a858d874f39115049d01c531570610

When pulled upright this card is about breakthroughs, just like all ace cards are. However do to this card being a sword it says that this breakthrough has more to with in intellect. So maybe you have been struggling to find the solution to a problem, this could be a breakthrough for that. It could also be a breakthrough in a situation where you were trying to determine the truth of something. It also talks about seeing the world from a new point of view and realizing you have endless opportunities. Now is a really great time to start working towards your goals. Since your conscious is clear and you are at a point of swift thinking now is a good time to seek justice and truth. It is important to remember that swords can be double-edged. So this clarity you are experiencing can be used for good or bad deeds. It is all dependent on you. It also reminds you that too much power can corrupt a person so you need to stick with your principles.

When pulled in reverse can be saying that instead of having a mental breakthrough you could actually be very confused, unsure, and feel very chaotic. It is good to remember, that due to this, it is not a good time to be making any decisions, since those choices won’t be backed with a clear mind. Now is a better time to prepare yourself for what is to come and take baby steps towards it. Now is the time to take yourself through each and every stage of what you want to accomplish and really create some sort of plan, rather than acting spontaneously. It would also be good to ask for advice because everything may not be as it seems.

Here is a tarot spread that may help you achieve your mental breakthrough. First I would take the ace of swords out of the deck and mediate on it while really trying to clear your mind of any chaos and confusion. Then shuffle the cards and pull using your preferred method.

11 Signs You’re an Indigo Child

While I was researching about being an empath, I came across information about starseeds. As you know, if you’ve read my post about starseeds, starseeds are people whose soul originate from a different planet. There are different types of starseeds but in general there are 3 main types. There are the indigo, the crystal, and the rainbow children. While doing my research I found I realized that myself, my brother, and my sister all have characteristics of each type of starseed. My brother matches the general description of an indigo. I match the crystal and my little sister matches the rainbow. Today I am going to talk about the indigo children. Do remember though that this is a general description and you may not fit with all of these signs. That’s okay, every soul is different. When I get to the signs of being an indigo child, I will give examples about my brother and how I see each trait in him.

So what exactly is an indigo child? An indigo child is a soul that originates from a different planet. That soul comes to earth to help improve it. An indigo tends to be the person tearing down the institutions. They seek the truth and are quite good at telling when they are being deceived, even at a young age. Another thing to note is a lot of indigo children are diagnosed with ADD/ADHD or other mood disorders. Indigos tend to be headstrong and freethinking which to the medical field can look like these types of disorders. (This is not to say that all children with ADD/ADHD are Indigo children.)

#1 You are strong willed.

My brother is a very strong willed person. Our parents are divorced and as a kid he always did whatever he wanted. I would let myself feel guilty for wanting to spend time with one parent over the other, and would never have the will to ask permission to be with that parent. My brother though had no issues. He would demand what he wanted. Now as a young adult my brother has moved to the city I live in. It is 3 hours away from our family. Everyone tried to tell him to stay in our hometown. No one thought he would be able to make it. Now he’s living in an apartment, working, and reaching his goals.

#2 You’re a freethinker

So this means you don’t just follow with whatever society says. You think for yourself and you make your own decisions. My brother is definitely a freethinker. I tend to side with society and so when it comes to me making decisions it happens rather quickly because I don’t think freely. My brother though he thinks for himself and makes choices for himself. This often results in me not agreeing because it is often the opposite of what I would do. But at the end of the day he does what he wants without the worry of society and I think he is better for it.

#3 You’re a nonconformist

When you’re a child this probably looks like disobedience, and being a troublesome kid. As an adult it probably shows itself in not liking to be controlled by others. My brother has always taken the harder road. He could never just do what was told of him and listen to authority. He always had to do the exact opposite and learn everything the hard way. He learns best from mistakes rather than reflecting on the things he’s done right. This is neither bad or good. It just is.

#4 . You’re a truth seeker

The truth is important to you. You are quite good at being about to tell when you are being lied to or if someone is hiding something from you. I think this is a very personal trait and is something I can’t really give examples of for my brother. I feel he is the only one who really knows how he feels about this.

#5 You are highly intuitive

For my brother I feel this comes up in him being an empath. He is very good at picking up others emotions. I believe he draws a lot of low energy people, a lot of energy vampires. He has always attracted a lot of people with depression and other mental illnesses. He has such a nurturing personality that these energy vampires take advantage of him and use up all his energy. This is physically harmful for him because he is literally always sleeping. He’s always so drained. So while being intuitive can be a blessing, make sure the indigo in your life is not being taken advantage of for it.

#6 You want to change the world

This could be in big things or smaller things. Maybe some people will want to be a president, or a scientist, or a humanitarian. My brother he has all these aspirations to work in various selfless fields. Next fall he is going to be going into human services. He is currently working on getting all the needed credits to become a paramedic and he also wants to get a certificate in early childhood education. He is currently a lifeguard. He loves working with children with additional needs. He wants to change the world a little at a time.

#7 You’re empathetic and compassionate.

I kind of already covered this in sign #5. But ya even if you aren’t an empath you will likely be an empathetic and compassionate person. You feel things so intensely that sometimes it even hurts. This high level of empathy can also cause depression and anxiety. I don’t know if it still affects him to this day but these were definitely issues he was dealing with when he was younger.

#8 You’re a leader

You may find you have a hard time working in teams or for other people. My brother has always been someone who questions authority. He never just gives respect to someone simply because they are of authority. You have to earn that from him and it isn’t easy. He definitely enjoys being in charge of himself.

#9 You have a loner personality

You find it difficult to be around too many people at once and often prefer to spend your time alone. My brother growing up was always alone in his room. He never wanted to be around any of us and was always much happier doing his own thing.

#10 You struggle with boredom

You tend to struggle with routine and structure. Because of this and your inability to stay focused you may have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD. My brother has been diagnosed since he was in about grade 2. Boredom is definitely something he struggles with. It has been more obviously since he has moved from our hometown.

#11 You are fiery tempered

You are likely quick to anger. There is likely a mix of reasons to this. Your empathy, being strong willed, being a truth seeker, and not conforming to society or authority. Anger issues is something my brother has struggled with all his life. I’ve never really understood why but maybe this is the reason.
